REPORTING TO:

Maintenance Manager

General Scope :

• Support in implementation and participate in the continuous improvement effort in the areas of Safety, Quality, Environment and Health Management System (for example SS506 part 3, ISO 9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, IATF 16949).
• To have a legal obligation to act in a responsible manner for the safety of themselves and other persons who may be affected by their actions or omissions at work.
• Assist the Management in ensuring that Major Accident Hazards are reduced to As Low as Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) and escalate when necessary.
• Ensure compliance to Customer Specific Requirements (CSR).

Main Duties & Responsibilities :

• Manage day-to-day maintenance services of electrical and field instruments in the process plant.
• Lead in the investigation/trouble-shoot of instrument fault or failure and provide effective and viable corrective and preventive action.
• Analyse and improve equipment reliability of plant to prevent recurrence with production group and contractors.
• Good knowledge and hand-on experience with DCS and PLC system.
• Prepare long-term maintenance plan for plant instrument, CV, Motor & Electrical Equip etc.
• Manage annual shutdown maintenance (Work planning, Management of actual site work, Liaising with contractors and production group).
• Manage in-house contractors to execute maintenance timely and effectively.
• Manage inventory control, quality of in-house contractor and vendor work.
• Responsible to ensure ISO/Mandatory calibration document, instrument files and work order documentation is timely complete with accurate in accordance with SOP
• Develop, revise and review of SOPs for maintenance/inspection of plant electrical and instrumentation equipment (eg. TI, TT, PI, PT, CV, on/off valve, motor, Switchgear, MCC etc.).
• Prepare documentation pertaining to procedures, qualities and safety of maintenance work.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with EHS policies.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation engineering or the equivalent.
• Min 5 years of experience as an E&I Engineer in chemical plant.
• Basic understanding of maintenance technology, equipment, instruments, electrical and manufacturing process.
• Demonstrate ability to manage contractors/vendor independently and effectively.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Primary Objective of Position

• Responsible for all electrical aspects and management of projects, including tendering, design, drawing, scheduling, purchasing, testing, packing, shipment and commissioning of power generation sets on site.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate all electrical interfacing of designated projects to meet specifications
• Instruct draughtsperson to prepare electrical drawings for tender replies and awarded projects according to customers' specifications
• Review returned drawings and modify as required for construction
• Coordinate with contractors on genset build up
• Provide specifications for control panels, generators and switchgears to vendors
• Liaise with vendors for quotations to procure/fabricate
• Coordinate with Parts Dept on order for CAT parts
• Assist with final technical inspections and testing of equipment
• Prepare packing list and coordinate with HPL on packing, delivery and shipment
• Perform on site commissioning as and when required
• Prepare project costing and report to the Project Manager
• Attend/Conduct engineering and project meetings both in Singapore and overseas (when required)
• Perform calibration of electrical items
• Assist in review and update of department procedures and manuals
• Fulfill other adhoc duties as assigned by Management

Person Specifications

• Possess a degree in Electrical/Power Engineering or 2 years of related experience in Power Generation Engineering and/or Project Management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge in electrical aspects of power systems and control panels

What the role is

You will work in Tuas South Incineration Plant as Assistant Engineering Executive (equivalent to technician level) to ensure safe and effective operation and maintenance of the electrical equipment and systems in the incineration plant.

What you will be working on

You will be responsible for the following:

• Attend to daily preventive maintenance of assigned plant electrical, instrumentation and control equipment.
• Attend to daily job cards assignments of unscheduled outages of plant electrical, instrumentation and control equipment.
• Attend to overhauling of equipment/system as assigned by the Supervisors.
• Supervise the work of contractors.
• Assist the Executive Engineering Manager/Engineering Executive in carrying out preventive and remedial maintenance of plant electrical, instrumentation and control equipment.
• Carry out any works that will help to ensure and maintain the high availability of the plant electrical, instrumentation and control equipment.

What we are looking for

• NITEC in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Technology (Power & Control)/Mechatronics Engineering
• Working experience (1 to 3 years) in operation and maintenance is preferable. Candidates with no working experience are welcome to apply
• Must be computer literate
• Able to work independently
• A good team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Able to perform occasional night duties
• Able and willing to work on weekend and after office hours

• Perform in-house and on-site measurement and data recording as part of the instrument calibration process
• Perform data and certificate processing as part of the instrument calibration process
• Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of calibration equipment and devices
• Adhere to calibration procedures and methods to meet the professional calibration service standard being delivered by the company
• Function as part of a larger team to meet customer's requirements in a timely and effective manner
• Function as part of a larger team to ensure proper housekeeping and maintenance of the laboratory/working areas
• Assist in the development and extension of new calibration scope

Job Requirement

• Candidate must possess minimum NITEC certificate. Higher NITEC or Diploma in Instrumentation / Engineering or equivalent is an advantage
• Experience in measuring instruments or calibration is an added advantage
• Able to perform calibration work in different customer’s premises when required, as part of the on-site calibration team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) for capturing and processing measurement data
• Willingness to learn/upgrade and commit to meet assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Able to perform some OT when required
• Able to function as a team, and interact with colleagues and customers well
• Proper training will be provided for the expected job scopes
