Brief Summary

The Regional Finance Director partners with the Commercial SVP to drive growth sustainably by driving efficiency in the investments being made to drive topline and bottom line as well. The Investments and M&A team is instrumental in originating, analysing, and executing M&A opportunities and strategic analysis. The Vaccines Finance Director Greater China and Intercontinental ensures ambitious, aligned & effective Plans and Forecasts as well as supports performance management and optimization through regular analysis, business insights and right balance of risks and opportunities. This role enables and builds strong commercial business cases for the GC&I region including launches and BD support. The scope includes providing partnering, decision support, financial analysis, and performance management for Vaccines in the GC&I region. The Vaccines Finance Director Greater China and Intercontinental ensures ambitious, aligned & effective Plans and Forecasts as well as supports performance management and optimization through regular analysis, business insights and right balance of risks and opportunities. This role enables and builds strong commercial business cases for the GC&I region including launches and BD support. The scope includes providing partnering, decision support, financial analysis, and performance management for Vaccines in the GC&I region. It requires highly effective partnering with a range of roles including Regional/Area Finance Heads, Vaccines Markets Leaders, Vaccines Financial Leaders, and Vaccines Financial Partners in the Local Operating Companies (LOCs). Key interfaces will include both commercial and financial roles across a full spectrum of seniority and geographies. Success in the role requires strong influencing and interpersonal skills, ability to understand market dynamics in different markets (tenders, private markets, etc), work with a wide range of people and cultures and operate effectively in a complex matrix environment.

Key Responsibilities

• You will support building robust Vaccines plans in line with ambition, targets, and supply plans through engagement with and challenging the LOCs, Vaccines Markets Leaders and Vaccines Financial Leaders. This will include preparation of the relevant decks, performance and scenarios analysis for Plan, MYE and LQE discussions outlining the assumptions and Risks and Opportunities.
• You lead and drive alignment between the Regions and Global Vaccines on mutually agreed forecasts and plans, including rolling forecasts, as well as building strong & aligned Risks and Opportunities.
• You partner with senior management in the region and GVC enabling effective strategy and decision making, covering Sales, P&L and Balance Sheet, which are informed by critical business analysis and insights in the following areas - contracting, tenders, BDs, etc.
• You support monthly performance reviews (MPRs) to influence effective decision making in the business, including analysing performance and resource allocation, adapting priorities, and identifying actions to close the gaps.
• You support financial aspects and negotiations of business development activities in the GC&I.
• You support preparation to launches and FRCs for the region actively collaborating with VFLs, VMLs, region and markets to enable launch planning and decision making, providing key inputs and insights, supporting launch modelling and being a reference point for forecast reviews ahead of FRC.
• You actively participate in the Actual closing process on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis providing the relevant analysis and insights to the Vaccines and regional teams.
• You will support the preparation of the quarterly press releases covering GSK Vaccines business in GC&I via analysis of actual results, relevant business insights and partnering with the region and markets.
• You actively influence and participate in the extended Finance Leadership Teams for GC&l and Global Vaccines and are a key member of the Global Demand Review Meeting.
• You provide business insights (variance analysis monthly consensus forecast vs latest financial forecasts / supply / risks and opportunities) for the monthly Regional S&OP.
• You ensure the leverage of CCC+ reports to increase Forecast Accuracy, reduce Bias and enable business insights, while reducing duplication of work across local, regional, and global teams.
• You act as ambassador of changes in ways of working and financial processes and systems transformation to accelerate implementation and increase efficiency.
• You will provide support to the GC&I region on other projects and analysis required outside of Vaccines business up to 25% of time.

• Degree in Economics, Business or Finance
• Min 8 years of experience in demonstrating advanced financial knowledge of accounting, model analysis, evaluation, forecasting and strategic planning.
• Min 5 years of experience working within a complex non-finance matrix team.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Degree in a finance-related field with a minimum of 10 years related working experience.

• Experience in working in a fund management role or with start-ups / growth stage companies would be an added advantage.

1. Direct and review all periodical financial reports, provide timely and accurate financial data to senior management for decision making

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Review large project pricing, progress and profitability. Knowledge of Cancer Mutations and Markers is preferred to enable quotation development.

· Support business leaders in ROA for pricing, strategy, market size mapping, investments required for business growth.

· Liaise with US Finance team closely on the revenue recognition, actual vs budget performance and US GAAP standards. Experience and extensive knowledge of ASC-606 & US-GAAP is must.

· Review Distributor and strategic partnership contracts to ensure terms are favourable to Guardant

· Prepare operational reports using Tableau and Macros. Hand on experience in Data Management and Analytics is a must.

· Consolidate regional P&Ls from Japan, Rest Of Asia, China & BioPharma Business into AMEA P&L.

· Track and report business performance metrics with the senior management and key stakeholders.

· Lead Long Range Plan, Annual Budget, Rolling forecast (LE1 – LE3) for AMEA. Liaise with regional finance and business leaders to finalize the submission.

· Identify and discuss risks and opportunities with business leaders for Quarterly rolling forecast for corporate submission.

· Evaluate pricing bundle and bulk discounts and its impact to annual revenue.

· Lead the weekly forecast and pipeline meetings with AMEA business leaders.

· Track and analyse the business performance between actual vs budget, actual vs forecast as well as its operating metrics and KPI.

· Manage Operating Expenses, Hiring plans to ensure delivery of financial metrics are aligned with annual targets for ROA and for AMEA.

· Communicate and business partner with the senior management and the stakeholders on its business performance (Revenue, OPEX, CAPEX and headcount hiring plan) as well as quantifying upcoming risks and opportunities.

· Align the various departments’ targets, metrics as well as its resources to US corporate goals

· Manage the uploading of Budget and rolling forecast (LE1 – LE3) into Hyperion EPBCS.

· Support in the updates of the management deck, such as Quarterly Business Review, AMEA leadership deck and financial analysis on markets performance.

· Identify potential cost savings to support in Budget reductions.

· Analyse new business initiatives (e.g Shield new business) with financial models and business justification.

Qualifications

· 10-15 years’ experience in FP&A or Accounting firms, preferably in healthcare industries.

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, accounting, or related field; CPA or MBA a plus

· Accustomed to multitasking, prioritizing, and meeting multiple tight deadlines in a fast-growing environment with frequently changing priorities.

· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.

· Familiarity with Hyperion and Oracle preferred.

· Knowledge of US GAAP/SOX will be a big plus

· Preferably “Power BI, other BI tools, and AI-related knowledge

· Strong analytical skills, with a sharp focus on attention to detail.

· Advanced presentation skills and business acumen as necessary.
