Credit Admin

c) On submission of the CAF, the Credit Risk Analyst ensures that it is in compliance with group policies and requirements. Comments on any deficiencies and indicates a level of support, be it positive, negative or conditional for the submission.

d) Work with the Credit Analyst ensures that spreadsheets have been compiled correctly, covenants have been complied with and any additional conditionality delivered.

e) Maintain independence of 2nd line of defense while ensuring timely and active support to 1st line of defence in underwriting acceptable credit transactions

f) To be involved in risk related projects.

Development and training

a) The Credit Risk Analysts must ensure that they are receiving appropriate training from either internal or external sources.

b) Attend online or external / internal seminars or presentations from subject matter experts.

Requirement

· Minimum qualifications are a post graduate degree in Economics, Finance, Accountancy or Business Administration with a strong foundation in analytical, statistical, and other quantitative techniques.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing daily operations, developing and implementing business strategies, ensuring smooth and efficient operations, monitoring financial performance, and leading and managing a team of professionals.

6.Follow-up and Repayment Management:

Tactfully and professionally follow up with customers to elicit timely repayments.

Contact customers tactfully to negotiate reloan plans, ensuring adherence to company policies.

7.Ad-Hoc Duties:

Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as required to support the efficient operation of the business.

Qualifications

Minimum Diploma or equivalent qualifications.

Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in the financial or moneylending sector.

Leadership and managerial skills

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures in a clear and concise manner.

Proficient in speaking both English and Mandarin (for liaison with Mandarin speaking customers).

Proficiency in dialect (E.g., Cantonese or Hokkien will be an added advantage).

As a Junior Operational Control Analyst for the Freight Platform, your primary responsibilities will be to support the day-to-day operations of the Platform in Singapore including Daily P&L and Positions and payment validation. You will also be involved in various monthly closing activities including financial and management reporting, production of statutory accounts and IT projects, process improvement and efficiency projects when required.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare daily trading PNL for assigned desk and close the trading P/L on a timely basis. This includes preparation of journal entries for accounting team to book.
• Review and validate daily freight payable transactions in accounting system for accurate and timely payments.
• Update futures/options margin accounts breakdown by desk, per broker statement.
• Review general month-end accounting tasks by accounting team to ensure that the financial results are prepared and reported timely in accordance with IFRS and Singapore accounting standards as well as internal policies. This includes Statutory and Management reporting.
• Perform month-end trading and accounting PNL reconciliation to ensure no major discrepancies and differences are accounted for, provide commentaries as required.
• Work closely with Freight Operations, Trading, Execution and Accounting teams to ensure that financial transactions including trading accruals and provisions pertaining to trading books are accounted for properly in both trading and accounting systems, and that they are in line with IFRS.
• Liaise with Accounting teams in offshore Shared Services Centre to ensure that non-trading activities are booked accurately.
• Coordinate and liaise with external parties like external auditors, tax agents, local tax and government authorities where required, during quarterly GST filing, annual statutory audits, and annual MSI-AIS Award submissions.
• Engage actively in the ongoing process of automating tasks and constantly look for areas of improvement.
• Assist the Manager/Controller to assess and identify risks within the business and any other adhoc tasks as required.

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in Product Control/Business Analysis/Management Accounting/Audit/FP&A from shipping/commodities industries preferred.
• Good understanding of futures markets, hedging and derivatives mechanisms.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability, and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees & management.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and to prioritize.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and to take initiative, proactive attitude toward problems and issues.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure atmosphere. Flexibility on working time during periodic closings.

Our main activities include:

• Implement credit risk management for assigned department/countries as PIC through credit line.
• Conducted regular meetings with customers with deferred collection requests.
• Internal training pertaining to Credit Risk.
• Compilation of periodic reports such as “Over Credit/Past Due report for Mitsui & Co. Asia Pacific”, “Collateral Monitoring”.
• Management of commodity and FX long, short position of Mitsui & Co Asia Pacific and its group companies.

Geographical scope:-

MAP (Singapore), Other assigned countries, Regional Subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities:-

• Minimize credit risk through daily credit assessment and lead the business division in the right direction.
• Implementation of required reporting and monitoring.
• Monitoring of (validity) collateral, guarantee, fundamentals and major trends in the market and impact, and provide business solution, etc.
• Identify market relationships and anomalies to provide insights and competitive advantage for the business stakeholders.
• Continually solicit requests for ad-hoc analysis relevant to the business or participate in related projects and provide any other logistic support as may be required.
