Job Summary

The Material planner is responsible for purchased materials planning process of standard and non-standard products from placing purchase order, follow up with suppliers to deliver products to fulfil distribution or for services on direct or drop ship arrangement. Plans engineering change and coordinates with Product Management when appropriate. Provides other supports to SBUs and management as required.

Responsibilities

• Plans all Material Replenishment and Entitlement Stocking. Make decisions to replenish, firm, cancel, or defer materials replenishment based upon current inventory, demand, and capacity.
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support business plans.
• Works with suppliers to expedite or defer materials as required by stakeholders while at the same time endeavour to meet business demand and inventory objectives.
• Works independently with external suppliers to manage material supply and forecast to ensure on time deliveries.
• Ensure timely update and expediting of Purchase Order status.
• Participate in Safety Stock Reviews with relevant stakeholders.
• Reviews bill of material changes and work with relevant parties to update Windchill system on lead times, and order policy information to ensure proper planning of new parts into production. Establishes effective dates and monitors inventory levels of new and old parts to minimize cost impact.
• Represents Planning and Purchasing at various meetings and relays related information on demand and supply. Collects information, complies into standard formats, prepares monthly reports and other management reports as requires.
• Release ISO (Internal Sales Order) through Oracle R12 and update relevant dates.
• Data mining of inventory excess and keep records of reasons for excess.
• Update and generate inventory and purchasing related reports.
• Ensure timely disposal of OSMI stocks according to company policy.

Basic Qualifications
