Team Summary
The scope and mandate for the Global CMS Deals Team is:
- The initial scope is focused on Money Movement (Visa Direct, Account, Wallet), with coverage expanding over time to include Treasury, B2BC, OTA/Virtual, and VCS Services. Client coverage spans all ecosystem participants including originators, financial institutions, fintechs, enablers, and technology partners
- The CMS Deals team is the primary partner to sales teams in all aspects of deal development, deal approval, and deal lifecycle management, including crafting the right structure, determining the right price, securing appropriate client commitments, building insightful deal review materials, maintaining decision records, and supporting contract drafting, negotiation, and execution.
- In addition to supporting deals, team members also partner with global and regional leaders on strategic deal-related projects, working on both crafting strategies and tactical implementation, giving the role a unique “high-low” element. Key projects include:
- Implementation of new/revised pricing for new and existing products
- Ecosystem evolution as new competitors emerge and as Visa’s market commitments evolve
- Commercialization of new use cases
- Standardize and scale deal processes for existing, more mature use cases
- The team collaborates with a wide variety of SMEs including Sales, Legal, Product, Rules, Technology, Risk, CCM, Client Services, Controllership, Pricing & Interchange, as well as Regional and Global executives and deal approval bodies, and as such the role requires strong communication, relationship management and stakeholder management skills.
What a Senior Manager, Deal Modeling does at Visa:
- Responsible in optimizing deal outcomes by leveraging best practices and seeking creative win-win deal structures
- Contribute to developing and enhancing best practices around commercial structures, legal terms and other deal assets (e.g. client proposals and pitch materials) that can be leveraged for future deals, including providing advisory support to sales teams
- Contribute to efficient, effective, streamlined infrastructure and processes for managing deals across Sales teams, Product, Legal, CCM, Interchange, Pricing, Finance, Controllership, Rules, and Strategy & Operations Teams.
- Manage CMS deals pipeline
- Remove barriers and challenge status quo for all deal process; Work with all regional and global partners to identify opportunities to improve deal outcomes and improve sales velocity
- Leverage global and other regional sales / deal team best practices, and contribute to a global catalogue and community to ensure we stay consistently ahead of competition in all regions, applying a “rising tide lifts all boats” approach
- Driving strategic decision-making processes for high-value deals, focusing on those with up to $10 million annual recurring revenue.
- Using extensive deals experience and market insights to guide sales teams in determining optimal pricing and structuring strategies to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Exercising significant influence within the organization through the development and implementation of effective deal strategies.
- Providing essential support in the negotiation and finalization of high-value deals by offering insights into deal pricing structures, market trends, and customer needs.
- Evaluating potential deal opportunities and risks, making informed decisions that align with the company's financial objectives.

Deal Finance is a key partner to sales partnering find the right deal structure and the right price and also helping sales and business leadership evaluate the trade, i.e. “what is Visa giving?” and how does it compare to “what is Visa getting?” Deal Finance roles are revenue impacting roles that significantly impact deal outcomes (win vs loss, good vs bad price, fast vs slow deal). Those in the role receive significant commercial exposure and insight and each deal directly impacts the CMS P&L.
What you will need:
- 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree; 8 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or a minimum of 6 years of work experience with a PhD.
- 5 years minimum experience [MT1] in Finance/ FP&A, deal modelling.
- Financial modelling skills and advanced excel skills are essential.
- Proactive, responsive, resilient, attentive to details and thorough.
- Ability to translate business strategy into a financial plan, storyboard in PowerPoint and be able to present analysis and insight to stakeholders.
- Ability to think longer-term coupled with fast execution of short-term priorities with a sense of urgency, assertiveness, and directness in identifying opportunities and proposing solutions.
- Good at working in teams, especially when collaborating across different functions.

What will also help:
- CIMA or ACCA qualification preferred – other recognised financial qualifications considered.
- Sales/ CRM platforms (Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce), BI and dashboard visualisation skills are desirable (Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau).
- 5+ years of leadership with exposure to an innovative business, one that continues to reinvent their business proposition. Industry experience is open with a strong preference for fin/tech or technology. Multi-company experience is strongly preferred.
- Global experience and positive reputation for working effectively across levels of an organization.
