JOB DESCRIPTION
The Compliance Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) policies, and standards within the School. They are responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing compliance programs to mitigate risks and maintain the school's integrity and reputation.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement comprehensive compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to the specific requirements of the Singapore International School.
- Stay updated with local and international laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to education, immigration, employment, health, safety, and data protection.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment of compliance efforts with the school's strategic objectives.
- Be the Management Representative for CPE EduTrust
- Responsible for coordination of Parent and Student Surveys.
- Organising and coordinating reports and documentation for CPE EduTrust and ERF requirements
- Assist with all Academic related Accreditations, such as CIS/WASC/CAIE/IB- coordination and etc
- Coordinate with appropriate authorities and agencies to obtain necessary licences, permits, and certifications for the school's operation.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and areas for improvement.
- Ensure confidentiality and data security in handling compliance-related documentation and information.
- Identify potential compliance risks and vulnerabilities within the school's operations and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Establish and maintain systems for monitoring and reporting compliance-related issues, incidents, and violations.
- Serve as a Data Protection Officer (DPO) and ensure the school is compliance with the PDPA in Singapore
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with PDPA requirements
- Develop and implement policies and procedures relating to PDPA within the School
- Handle data breaches and respond to PDPA-related inquiries.
- Provide ongoing education and training to ensure employees understand their data protection responsibilities.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to address compliance-related concerns and implement corrective actions.
- To work closely with the stakeholders on the accreditation process.
- To perform any other duties as assigned by the management, stakeholders, function managers and reporting manager
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Organised and detail oriented
- Self motivated, self directed and proactive character
- Efficient time management skills
- In-depth knowledge of Singapore’s PDPA and other relevant government regulations.
- Experience and knowledge in ISO, Auditing, CIS, WASC, IB, EduTrust and CPE requirements is an advantage
- Excellent comprehension skills and the ability to read and produce administrative and technical reports and documentation
- Relevant Degree in Business Management or equivalent
- Experience in Education Industry with PEI environment
- A good knowledge of auditing skills will be preferred
- Knowledge in using Data Analytics for auditing is preferred but not mandatory
