We have a current opportunity for a Event Manager (Japanese speaking) on a permanent basis.
Role: Event Manager (Japanese speaking)
Location: Singapore
Salary: S$4,500 - S$6,000 per month
The Event Manager builds and maintains client relationships, provides guidance and support while adhering to client procedures and standards.
The Event Manager is responsible for venue and supplier sourcing, contract and commercial negotiations as well as financial budget and payment reconciliation.
Additional scope to include program planning, on site event management, virtual meetings support, and attendee registration management will also be provided to client as and when required.
The Event Manager works on a variety of program simultaneously and serves as liaison between the client and venue(s)/supplier(s) for the duration of the meeting, and beyond when required.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide meeting and events industry-relevant guidance, enabling highest levels of benefit to client
- Provide consultative approach to supplier sourcing, ensuring client identified clear objectives for the outcome of the meeting, conference or program
- Commitment to program related KPIs, SLAs and data quality requirements
- Sourcing, selection and presentation of venues and/or suppliers, taking into consideration the requirements, budget, key success factors for the program
- Enforce and negotiate the adoption of the client’s terms and conditions to identify and mitigate any legal or financial risks with engaging with third party suppliers
- Establish ongoing relationships (including site visits) with key suppliers such as venues, DMC’s, caterers, restaurants, AV suppliers, and transportation providers as needed
- Efficient management of timelines/deadlines for multiple programs, maintaining effective communication and clarity with client throughout the sourcing and/or planning process regarding all aspects of the program, including venue management, budgeting, and final program reconciliation
- Ensure timely payment of all supplier/vendor bills, client invoicing, deposits and payment status with Accounts Payable
Additional Scope As And When Requested
- Ancillary services for virtual managed and produced meetings which include production, audio visual, creative services, speaker engagement, moderation, knowledgeable about various virtual platforms
- Provide logistics consultation and support, facilitate smooth operation onsite, communicate program/event details and provide relevant collaterals to client and suppliers
- Facilitate the creative direction and overall development timeline of program related participant and host communications materials, including, but not limited to web sites, invitation letter and registration form.
- Responsible for building and managing registration sites

We’re looking for you if your profile matches the following:
- Diploma or Degree
- Language Requirement – Proficient in English, as well as Japanese to serve the client based in Japan
- Ability to work during Japan’s business hours
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in client management
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in planning meetings, incentives, conventions, conferences and/or special events
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing outside vendors, sourcing, and negotiating contract services
- Proficiency in word processing and Microsoft Office applications
- First-hand experience managing domestic meetings & events
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Capability of problem solving - Anticipating, initiating, and resolving issues Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects
