NTU Shared Services (NSS) is a centralized unit within Nanyang Technological University (NTU) that provides a wide range of administrative, operational, and support services to various departments and units within the university. The NSS Technical Support Executive is responsible for providing effective IT/AV technical support role, in relation to the generic desktop/ laptop PCs, mobile devices, Audio Visual (AV) equipment, as well as NTU campus software. The School of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

The Research Fellow is expected to play a lead role in the reliability testing and failure analysis of GaN High Electron Mobility Transistors (HEMT) integrated on silicon CMOS devices. He/she will be involved in carrying out accelerated testing of multiple devices fabricated under different conditions using package/wafer level testing. This position is supported by a Tier III grant to establish a Climate Transformation Programme (CTP) at NTU. As part of this programme, the Climate Finance Cluster will assess the multifaceted business risks posed by the physical impacts of climate change, narrow the protection gap, and facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The Senior Research Fellow will be responsible for developing procedures to measure and price risks arising from climate change suitable for each company so that climate risk can be managed by companies and hedged by investors, and seeing this work through to publication in major research journals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use computational linguistic tools and machine learning techniques to analyze discussions on climate change in corporate social responsibility reports, conference call transcripts, and the Management Discussion and Analysis section of companies’ annual reports

We are currently recruiting a Research Fellow who will join the laboratory of Professor Simon Redfern at the Asian School of the Environment, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), to perform in situ and operando analysis of the ash-derived sorbents and develop multi-scale reaction model to describe sorbent behaviour during carbon capture cycles.

The candidate will be expected to further increase the efficiency of the capture process by improving the sorbent formulation. Doing so requires an in-depth understanding of the sorbent behaviour over CO2 uptake-regeneration cycles under a variety of operating conditions, including those closely mimicking the flue gas compositions from WtE plants and CCGT power plants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procure and commission an operando XRD system (EQP01)

• Connect and operando XRD system with existing lab infrastructure

• Competitively secure beamtimes to perform in situ and operando synchrotron experiments at high-end synchrotron facilities (e.g. Australia, UK or US)

• Design and fabrication of in situ and operando cells for performing in situ and operando synchrotron experiments

• Perform in situ and operando synchrotron experiments at international synchrotron research facilities

• Carry out ex situ studies of sorbent materials at NTU

• Carry out kinetics measurements of CO2 capture and sorbent regeneration

• Develop and validate multiscale reaction models describing the behaviour of sorbent materials under a variety of operating conditions (e.g. different flue gas compositions to simulate CO2 emissions from different industrial facilities)

The eVTOL Research and Innovation Centre at School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is looking for a Research Associate in the area of Battery Management.

• Lead the design of advanced battery systems for electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft.

• Develop and implement state-of-the-art Battery Management Systems (BMS) to monitor, control, and protect battery packs.

• Lead the design and development of both high voltage and low voltage power systems for eVTOL aircraft, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

• Identify and select appropriate high and low voltage components, such as circuit breakers, control panels, and converters, considering efficiency, reliability, and weight constraints.

• Develop detailed specifications for electrical system, working closely with harness and electrical component suppliers, provide technical guidance and support to ensure compliance with design requirements.
