PURPOSE

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Executive in Internal Control and Compliance. The Executive will be responsible for the following duties:

1. Assist in executing and maintaining the guidelines in internal control.

2. Assist in reviewing and assessing the soundness, effectiveness, and proper application of internal controls, compliance procedures, and controls and timeliness of document generation.

3. Assist in organizing and carrying out the internal controls function; maintain and update the audit manual, audit scope, and audit plan.

4. Work with the team to conduct internal audits, present audit reports, and document the internal audit process.

5. Assist with the follow-up of any ad-hoc audits, when required.

6. Support the team to evaluate compliance with existing standards, guidelines, methodologies, policies, and procedures; identify and propose changes to existing standards, guidelines, methodologies, policies, and procedures to reduce risks and enhance control.

7. Highlight risk management issues and internal control deficiencies identified and work with the team to provide recommendations to improve the entity’s operations.

8. Work with team members from departments and business units to handle risk-related ad-hoc projects, when necessary.

9. Assist in reviewing the responses to internal and external audit results to ensure that recommendations are implemented and all action items are resolved.

10. Assist in evaluating regulatory compliance programs.

11. Any other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.

Job Summary:

The Internal Auditor reports to the Head of Department for Compliance and Audit. He/she assesses and evaluates organizational processes, procedures and internal controls to ensure they are effective, efficient and compliant with the regulations and policies. He/she is expected to provide independent and objective assessment to help the organization to achieve its objectives, improve risk management and boost operational performance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive internal audits to assess and enhance the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
• Evaluate financial records, operational procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Identify areas of potential risk and provide recommendations for improvement to safeguard company assets and maintain regulatory compliance.

• Perform checking on the goods that packed by the packers to ensure the outgoing goods are tally with the invoices.
• Check and identify the discrepancies.
• Escalate to the Manager if found any discrepancies or suspicious items.
• Verify each invoices or delivery order after checking.
• Only allow Drivers / Storekeepers to load the goods onto the truck after proper checking has been done.
• Perform other internal checking on the Operations ground as required.

Responsibilities

• Executing risk based financial, operational and compliance audit which includes developing internal audit scope and audit planning.
• Prepare audit program and document work performed in a clear and organised manner.
• Conduct review and testing for controls and compliance with best practices, policies and procedures.
• Drafting audit observations and communicate findings for Management’s response.
• Assisting in developing of annual risk-based audit plan and periodic reporting to the Audit Committee.
• Performing follow-up reviews on previous internal audit issues to ensure actions are taken to address identified internal audit issues.
• Assist in special review, data analytics and system implementation review etc.

Requirements:

• A good Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Finance.
• Professional certifications (e.g. CPA, ACCA, CIA) is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in internal, external audit and/or business process reviews.
• Strong command of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is essential.
• Strong foundation in internal control concepts and familiar with emerging risks and technology.
• Independent, resourceful, good inter-personal skill and a team player.
• Demonstrating working to a high level with minimal supervision.
• Strong English and Chinese proficiency (written and oral), is a must to communicate with English and Chinese speaking stakeholders in regards with the business inefficiencies, internal control weaknesses or operational issues observed during audits and recommend appropriate solutions.
