The incumbent will act as one of the faculty liaisons at Science Dean’s Office for the Master’s programmes at the NUS Faculty of Science in response to the suite of Programmes’ rapid expansion. The dedicated person will help to ensure the smooth delivery of the sought-after self-financing programmes and ensure their service standard. By working with the Programme Managers, Programme Directors and the Deanery members at the Faculty of Science, he/she will manage the Programmes’ end-to-end administration including admission, programme management, alumni relations, and other related portfolios. Job Description

A Programme Manager position is open at the Singapore Hybrid-Integrated Next-Generation μ-Electronics (SHINE) Centre of Professor Aaron Thean and within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The candidate will have a leading role in managing the related research projects, reviewing, and monitoring the execution, leading all aspects of the communication with the involved industrial parties.
The candidate will also have responsibilities in the following areas:
1. Coordinate the setup of the Centre in close collaboration with its Directors and PIs.
2. The Programme Manager is expected to play a leadership role in ensuring a tightly integrated programme where appropriate research activities are clearly collaborative; and to monitor, supervise, and manage the various principal investigators and receive reports on their research projects and specifically to review the progress of the various research activities for their deliverables along pre-determined timelines and make necessary changes, when appropriate, to the programme to achieve the stated goals.

Class Timetable Scheduling and Course Registration

• Coordinate, de-conflict and manage all course outlines and timetable matters related to the programme, so as to ensure standardisation and that the timelines are properly adhered to
• Communicate to the students on all matters related to their coursework in a timely manner, including preparation of user guides and conducting briefings to the students and course registration matters

Student Record Management

Faculty Matters

NRPO also works to foster public-private partnerships to ensure robotics technologies and IPs developed with public funding are relevant for industry and are commercialised into useful products, services and solutions that are adopted in Singapore and around the world.

A key role of NRPO is to bring together end-users across different industries, robotics & automation companies, and our IHLs/RIs to identify use cases and technology gaps that public-private partnerships can help to address. The National Robotics Programme Office (NRPO) is responsible for catalysing differentiated robotics R&D capabilities at our Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and Research Institutes (RIs) for the benefit of our economy and society. NRPO also works to foster public-private partnerships to ensure robotics technologies and IPs developed with public funding are relevant for industry and are commercialised into useful products, services and solutions that are adopted in Singapore and around the world.

A strong and vibrant robotics (supply-side) industry with companies developing and making robotics products and solutions here for export will help to support our end-user industries and act as vehicles for the commercialisation of technologies and IPs developed by our IHLs/RIs.

We are looking for a self-motivated person with a keen interest in robotics, to join NRPO to perform the following:

• Assist in planning and implementing initiatives to fulfil NRPO's objectives, with a focus on local and overseas events that showcase Singapore's robotics innovation ecosystem and that helps to foster connections and collaborations amongst end-users, robotics & automation companies and IHLs/RIs.
• Establish NRPO's calendar of events including a flagship NRPO event and identifying events that NRPO should partner with or participate in.
• Plan and execute NRPO's flagship and other events including engaging with stakeholders, partners and vendors.
• Work closely with our corporate communications partner to develop communications plan and key messages.
• Develop and manage our communications platforms and channels including NRPO's website and social media.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably with a background in events, public relations or community development.
• Operational experience in organising and managing events including driving schedules and tasks.
• Able to multi-task and work well under time pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Adept at social media communication platforms and channels.
• Good interpersonal skills to liaise and work with multiple stakeholders, partners and vendors.

• Lead a team to establish and manage robotics innovation clusters aligned with the focus sectors and applications.
• Work together with internal and external partners to engage and secure collaboration with international and private sector end-users and robotics & automation companies for translation and commercialisation.
• Explore and implement appropriate models & mechanisms including consortiums for collaboration between industry and IHLs/RIs.
• Work to enhance systems engineering capabilities for industry to develop innovative robotics systems for commercial deployment.
• Lead a team to establish and manage a focal point in our ecosystem to accelerate the growth of SG-based robotics start-ups and SMEs.
• Engage and on-board relevant internal and external partners to support the focal point with their initiatives and programmes.
• Conduct scans to identify promising SG-based robotics start-ups and SMEs.
• Establish and enhance NRPO's network with robotics seasoned entrepreneurs, industry veterans and experts that would add value to the focal point.
• Develop and manage the process of identifying and selecting promising SG-based robotics start-ups and SMEs and matching them to the initiatives and programmes that would accelerate their growth.
• Catalyse the development of standards by obtaining feedback from industry on sector/application best practices for robotics, and initiating standards development work with the relevant partners.
• Plan and execute events that showcase Singapore's robotics innovation ecosystem and that helps to foster connections and collaborations amongst end-users, robotics & automation companies and IHLs/RIs. Such events could be organised, co-organised or participated by NRPO and could be local or overseas.

Requirements:

• 8-10 years of relevant working experience, preferably with a background in robotics industry.
• Familiarity with robotics standards and systems engineering practice are an added advantage.

Job Description

The incumbent will provide administrative and logistical support to the Bachelor of Environmental Studies (BES) programme, in the Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following -

• Assist the BES programme committee to draft curriculum papers and submit new course proposals to effect changes to the curriculum.
• Provide administrative and logistical support to course coordinators for ENV-coded modules
• Manage timetabling, course registration and examination matters
• Manage financial aspects of the BES programme, including the processing of invoices and request for payment forms.
• Facilitate admission processes for freshmen, including the polytechnic accreditation exercise, scheduling of aptitude-based admission and scholarship interviews, declaration of specialization for freshmen and facilitating the BES curriculum briefing at the beginning of every academic year.
• Plan and facilitate outreach events for prospective and current students, including NUS Open Day, Open House, Engagement Day and BES tea session.
• Provide support to BES student groups, including the BES student committee and BES Drongos.
• Provide support for BES student queries regarding enrolment and graduation requirements.
• Address any enquiries through the envhelp mailbox.
• Oversee updates to the BES website when required.

• Help organise any BES programme-related conferences or meetings.

Responsibilities

• To manage a team of staff to ensure the smooth running of the programme’s daily operations and maintenance of the Community Service Centre.
• Provide guidance and motivation to staff to achieve the programme objectives, and develop work plans for the team in alignment with agency goals.
• Conduct internal and external environmental assessments to identify areas for development and improvement to better meet the needs of the clients.

Qualifications/requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in social work.
• Social work accreditation with SASW. Candidates with counselling experience and professional accreditation in this field may also apply.

• Strong leadership skills possess at least 3 years of people management experience, with strong stakeholder management and people skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
