Position Summary
The Product Sales Manager (PSM) is the key people element to DFS’ vision of being the World Traveler’s Preferred Destination for Luxurious Shopping. The PSM is the primary conduit between the corporate merchant team and the customer, ensuring an unforgettable customer experience aligned to the company vision while effectively driving sales. The Product Sales Manager possesses an outgoing and assertive personality, strong interpersonal skills and business acumen, innovative and agile, digital savvy, a desire to lead and inspire their teams. Most importantly, they possess a passion for the brands and products they represent.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Selling and the Customer Experience:
• Align the customer experience to the company vision being the World Traveler’s Preferred Destination for Luxurious Shopping
• Lead, inspire and celebrate unforgettable customer experiences
• Drive exceptional results in customer experience measures
• Partner with the Client Service team to initiate clienteling actions to retain, recruit and reactivate members
2. Manage the Sales Team and Floor
• Ensure high energy, positive floor experience for staff
• Build an effective team by observing, coaching and inspiring.
• Be agile to continually improve customer experience and team productivity
• Manage team visibility on the shop floor for optimal staffing and floor coverage
• Drive sales through executing clearance sales, promotions, supported by staff incentives and targets. Initiate action plans to increase staff & space productivity by continually improving
• Conversion of customers from non-buy to buy.
3. Product Management
• Responsible for being the primary communication link between merchants, planners, replenishment & allocation team and the customers
• Maintain a very high standard of product and brand knowledge
• Ensure floor presentation meets or exceeds brand and DFS requirements
• Participate in the development and execution of merchandise strategy including promotions, seasonal buys, etc
Requirements
*Bachelors Degree in Management, Business or equivalent preferred, not essential
* Min 2+ years retail store experience required, leadership experience with sales and luxury merchandise highly desired
* Strong multidimensional leadership ability. Able to effectively operate in a culturally diverse environment with astuteness and sensitivity.
* Excellent presentation skills
* Agile and innovative to business environment
* Must have high degree of integrity and confidentiality with a keen sense of business/financial acumen
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Proficient in using MS tools, including Excel, Word & Powerpoint
