Purpose of the Role

• Support the activities relating to Group’s international tax strategy and transfer pricing model, coordinating external advice as necessary to create and maintain an optimum tax structure and minimising the Group’s direct and indirect tax cost and exposure.

Requirements

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As the Senior Accountant, Accounting Operations Trading Company for Nike Trading Company B.V. and Nike Global Trading B.V. in Singapore (“Nike Trading Company”), you will be responsible for managing the global Inventory and intercompany accounting activities for the buy/sell operations of the Nike Trading Company.

We are looking for a candidate with strong SAP skills in the MM/FI modules and accounting operations experience, preferably in the areas of Inventory and Intercompany. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, you’ll be responsible for E2E inventory/global intercompany accounting processes accounting process for buy/sell operations for legal entity reporting in SAP R/3 and S4 including: timely execution of month-end closing activities which includes inventory adjustments, cutoff entries, inventory aging review, purchase price variance analysis, various intercompany chargeback entries, month-end reporting and variance analysis. Where there are exceptions, investigate, communicate and follow up effectively with the relevant parties and close off with proper documentation.

You will also be managing quarterly inventory count and reconciliation activities as well as year end confirmation and support internal and external audits in the relevant scope. Responsibilities

1. Manage Financial Accounting and Reporting functions

a) Maintain the accounting system and subsystems, ensure accuracy of data transfer from source systems to accounting system.

b) Supervise and review the accounting process for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, General Ledger, Asset Management in accordance with accounting standards and principles.

c) Exercise professional judgement to identify and apply accounting treatments to be adopted to meet statutory and internal reporting requirements.

d) Perform quarterly close, GST return and prepare financial statements.

2. Management Accounting and Budgeting

a) Present key findings on financial performance and conduct annual budget exercise.

b) Perform variance analysis and reporting to support Centres and HQ budget control management.

3. Manage External and Internal Audit

a) Liaise with external and internal auditors on all audit matters

b) Ensure annual statutory audit process is carried out in compliance and on time.

c) Organise timely and effective internal audit process to ensure systems and internal control processes integrity, also in the review and implementation of best practices.

4. Manage Financial Policies and Internal Control Processes

a) Identify and assess operational and financial risks

b) Assist to develop and execute risk management strategies to protect the organization's financial assets.

5. Manage Stakeholders

a) Liaise with internal stakeholders on operational matters

b) Liaise with statutory bodies and other external consultants for operational, financial matters.

The Senior Accountant will provide finance support to Korea and Hong Kong entities including regional businesses and be accountable for all aspects related to finance and accounting. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, Asia, this position will complete all financial and management reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the various systems.

This role will also be responsible for managing local statutory accounts, local/income tax and VAT filing, other reporting requirements and cash management including dividend and intra group loan. This role will also support regional Treasury operation.

This role also covers FP&A scope to consolidate the financials for regional entities and provide detailed analysis for monthly reporting. This role is also supporting the sales bids to review the cost reasonableness of the bids.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Ensure consistent use and appropriate application of the global chart of accounts and accounting principles and policies.
• Timely & accurate month, interim and year end close activities
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Monitor business control effectiveness and develop/execute improvement plans to assure accurate financial reporting.
• Support the Regional Account Payables and Receivables performance metric.
• Support treasury matters such as loan, financing, bank guarantee applications etc.
• Responsible for cash forecast, defining funding and hedging requirements and ensuring Divisional Treasury policies are adhered to
• Arrange intra group loan and dividend working with divisional tax team.

Budgetary

• Work with Budget Owners to get an understanding of performance.
• Work with regional FP&A team for budget variance commentary and reporting.
• Target areas of expense overruns/inconsistencies and implement corrective measures.

Tax & Compliance

• Provide statutory account, tax filing and other reporting to local authority in a timely manner.
• Run and report monthly minimum control to ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
• Monitor and assess business control environment and take action to improve it if weakness is found.

FP&A/Commercial

• Gather and organize financial data to provide detailed analysis on variances
• Investigate and perform monthly analysis for order intake, revenue changes and movement in expenditure (increases/decreases) between Actuals and Budgets/Forecast/Prior Year
• Ensure the accuracy in monthly reporting (order intake, revenue, gross profit)
• Support sales bids process, financials preparation, benchmark and challenge costs/margins.
• Provide financial analysis with attention to cash-flow analysis and local tax requirements.
• Support commercial decision making and manage performance against budget/forecasts through analysis and being the go-to person for financial matters relating to the market.

Requirements:

• Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy (or equivalent) from a recognised institute or equivalent professional qualification such as ACCA
• Experience in Manufacturing industry/Trading industry
• Experience of working in well-established global multinationals with matrix reporting structures.
• Experience in data management, including use of business intelligence reporting and finance systems. Knowledge of SAP is a must.
