About our team
Chief Data Office (CDO) is the central data and analytics arm that works closely with the Businesses and Corporate functions to enable the execution Nomura’s data strategy. We help the firm implement robust data standards & governance, actionable performance metrics & MIS, high impact information and analytics products and solution.
CDO is a fast-growing team within Nomura focuses on 3 main pillars – Governance, Develop, Operationalize. Governance pillar works with data owners, stewards, custodians and consumers to improve data and digitalisation capabilities for pre-emptive risk management and controls management. Develop pillar designs, develops and delivers analytics solutions and enhancements to support digital and analytics transformation. Operationalize pillar works with business to design, deliver and operationalise data transformation product and solutions.
About the Full Time Analyst Program
The Graduate Analyst Program is a full-time program commencing in July 2026. Being part of our 18-month Graduate program, you will work in the Chief Data Office (CDO) to gain in-depth knowledge in driving the development of information and analytics products for data and digital transformation across Nomura Group.
During the Program, you will get the exposure to rotate across the 3 pillars within CDO and understand how each pillar works together to make impact to the various parts of Nomura. You will also work on key analytics initiatives across multiple disciplines with the guidance and mentorship from experienced data professionals.
About the 2025 6-month Internship Program
The 6-month internship program will commence in January / July 2025 in our Singapore office. During the program, you will gain first-hand experience and insights in how CDO drives the development of information and analytics products for data and digital transformation across Nomura Group. You will have the opportunity to feel our culture, acquire valuable on-the-job training and expand your network. This program is a key pipeline for our Graduate Analyst Program.
You will get to:
• Understand of financial services, especially wholesale and investment banking
• Expose to data driven decision making by corporate functions - Risk, Legal and Compliance, Real Estate and Services, Human Resources, Finance
• Gain experience with cloud computing and data warehousing on the cloud through AWS and Snowflake
• Apply statistical techniques in real world scenarios
• Expose to corporate culture in a global organization and team
Your responsibilities include:
• Build econometrics & machine learning solutions to solve business problems
• Build data pipelines both on-premise and on the cloud
• Build and manage data visualization using PowerBI or other similar tools
• Work with Data Scientists and Engineers to deploy solutions to development/production environment
• Collaborate with business leaders, subject matter experts, and decision makers to develop success criteria and optimize new products, features, policies, and models
• Communicate key results to senior management in verbal, visual, and written media

About You

Due to the job nature, additional requirements are:
• Studying in quantitative fields, such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or related disciplines would be advantage
• Intellectual curiosity to solve data driven problems
• Exposure & hands-on experience in executing data analysis using tools such as Python, R, SQL, PowerBI etc.
• Exposure to statistical methods, familiarity with Machine Learning methods is a nice to have
• Exposure to cloud tools such as AWS is nice to have, but not a must
• Ability to understand complex business and data systems
• Ability to clearly communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences
• Versatility and willingness to learn new technologies on the job

Candidates applying for this 6-month Internship program must be available to commit for the entire duration of the program (January – June 2025 / July - December 2025) and commence for Graduate Analyst Program in July 2026.
