Responsibilities

The Assistant Executive will provide assistance to the Executive Director (ED) and support to the Administration Team in the day-to-day management of co11ab’s operations as directed by the ED. 1. The School of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

The Research Fellow is expected to play a lead role in the reliability testing and failure analysis of GaN High Electron Mobility Transistors (HEMT) integrated on silicon CMOS devices. This position is supported by a Tier III grant to establish a Climate Transformation Programme (CTP) at NTU. As part of this programme, the Climate Finance Cluster will assess the multifaceted business risks posed by the physical impacts of climate change, narrow the protection gap, and facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The Senior Research Fellow will be responsible for developing procedures to measure and price risks arising from climate change suitable for each company so that climate risk can be managed by companies and hedged by investors, and seeing this work through to publication in major research journals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use computational linguistic tools and machine learning techniques to analyze discussions on climate change in corporate social responsibility reports, conference call transcripts, and the Management Discussion and Analysis section of companies’ annual reports

• Construct a dataset that can produce a climate risk fact sheet containing essential information about various climate risk exposure (e.g., drought, flooding) of a region or a city

The School invites applications for two non-tenure-track Senior Lecturer/Lecturer positions in Computational Systems and Engineering.
 

Position Description
Applicants should have at least a Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic
Engineering, or Computer Science/Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Candidates who have a Bachelor’s degree and extensive industry or vocational
experience may also be considered. A strong background and teaching experience in one or more of the following areas is required: Software Engineering, Computing and Programming (Python, C, Object-oriented Programming, and Assembly Language Programming), Microprocessor, Computer Architecture, Internet and Mobile Services and Applications, Database Systems, Web Applications, Wireless Communications, Computer Communication and Networking, Cyber-Physical Systems, Cyber Security, Internet of Things, AI and Machine learning, Pattern Recognition, Data Mining/Analytics and Natural Language Processing.

Fresh PhD graduates would be considered but preferences are given to candidates with relevant working/teaching experience in universities.

Responsibilities
The successful candidates are expected to teach courses in the fields of Computational Systems and Engineering at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Job Descriptions

· Overseeing and managing financial operations.

· Prepare monthly management performance reports and business review packs, ensure compliance with international accounting standards and tax (GST/WHT/CIT) regulations.

· Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts and support with variance analysis and recommendations.

· Monitor and report on sales performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost saving opportunities.

· Control and manage operating cash flow.

· Assist in the preparation of budget and forecast to support decision-making.

· Handle all taxation matters including indirect tax and ensure compliance with timely filing.

· Identify financial and control risks and implement strategies for mitigation.

· Develop and maintain effective internal control procedures.

· Enforce policies and look into strengthening current internal control.

· Identify process improvement opportunities and implement the changes.

· Lead and develop the finance team, providing guidance and support for professional growth.

· Liase with external parties like external auditors, tax agents, banks, corporate secretarial agents, local tax, and government authorities.

· Lead in ERP system implementation related projects.

· Any ad hoc duty assigned.

Qualification / Experience Require

• Degree in Accounting, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum 3-5 years working experience in similar role.
• Audit experience will be highly advantageous.
• MNC experience preferred.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Prior experience using Microsoft Dynamics NAV / JDE system is a plus.
• ERP Implementation experience is a plus.
• Singaporean is welcome.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for establishing, controlling, maintaining, and improving existing supplier quality performance. Monitor key quality metrics (Technology, Quality, Responsiveness, Delivery and Cost). Work with suppliers on continuous improvement in these areas.

• Work with design engineers and customers to develop equipment validation plan, factory, and site acceptance testing plans. Responsible for execution and documentation of validations and testing.

• Working closely with suppliers to ensure product requirements are understood and complied with. Ensure suppliers are meeting product quality requirements and delivery schedules. Providing updates to the internal team on the progress.

• Establish inspection plan and testing criteria at supplier sites and incoming.

• Initiate corrective action report management and resolution. Working with supplier’s non-conformance activities, perform root cause analysis and determine effective corrective actions to reduce or eliminate the cost of poor quality.

• Establish and implement an efficient project-related documents control and database filing system

• Maintenance and continuous improvement of documentation approval and filing system (Windchill)

• Support training programs by development and implementation of specialized training sessions for all applicable functions

• Lead in continuous improvement activities

Requirements:

· Degree in Mechanical Engineering

· 2-3 years of relevant working experience

· Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications including strong GD&T skills and experience is a plus

· Able to perform inspection using measuring equipment

· Experience with handling of supplier and supplier quality management

· Experience in using problem-solving tools including fishbone diagrams, FMEA and 5-whys methodology

· Good analytical, communication and interpersonal skills

· Able to analyse data for accuracy and correctly interpret results

· Meticulous attention to details, able to multi-task and committed to the job

· Familiar with ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements is a plus

· Good English communication skills, both verbal and written

· Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook

· Class 3 driving license is an added advantage

Supervision of works at site in accordance with the design

• Preparation and maintenance of daily report / record

• Check and conduct inspections on works performed by subcontractors / gangs

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.

· Minimum 3 years' working experience in similar role.

· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office.

· Experience in handling and drafting letter of credit.

· Strong knowledge of customer service, trade incoterms and customs procedures.

· Strong leadership and adaptable to changes in a highly dynamic work environment.

· Strong communication skills and negotiation skills.
