Job purpose:

Specific to this role: Credit Officer supporting the Korean desk in the Singapore Branch International Corporates business line, located in the Singapore Branch.

This is a Group Risk Management role working closely with the Korean Client Relationship desk (3 pax) with the focus on detailed credit risk assessment and obtaining the credit decision. Generic to Credit Officer role: Guided by the highest quality standard in decision-making, the Credit Officer (CO) decides and is primarily responsible for credit synopses which he/she processes himself/herself or within his/her group, distributes within the group according to difficulty and complexity, and discusses in individual cases. In order to obtain adequate information he/she regularly participates in client visits.

As supervisor the CO is responsible for the risk result and the risk quality of the credit portfolio within his/her responsibility. The CO shares responsibility for the performance (gross / value contribution margin) of the exposure he/she processes in the corporate lending business. In the context of managerial duties, the CO is guided by the Bank’s strategic goals, business policy focus and, in particular, its credit risk strategy. To safely plan and load cargo onto the vessels operated in Swire Projects Fleet.

Role Accountabilities

• Assisting in cargo transport and engineering for any types of cargo on various vessels.
• Providing transport engineering solutions in areas such as heavy lifting, sea-fastening, ship stability and structural analysis.
• Preparing and updating cargo stowage, lifting, sea-fastening and other relevant operational plans.
• Providing technical support, advice, and solutions to the commercial and chartering teams in transport cargo projects tenders and enquiries.
• Planning and developing optimal operational and transport engineering solutions, which are safe and cost-effective cargo operations together with the commercial and operations teams, and cargo superintendents.
• Coordinating and managing cargo operations and projects.
• Attending technical and operations meetings with clients and various stakeholders.
• Assisting and ensuring all operations, i.e., loading and discharging, are conducted in accordance with the latest plans, relevant policies, procedures, agreements, and legislative requirements.
• Conducting pre-inspection of cargo and attending pre-operations meetings to ensure smooth and safe cargo - loading and discharging – operation.
• Supervising and assisting as Cargo Superintendent (CSI) on board during all loading and discharging operation.
• Monitoring and reporting of daily operations on board.
• Preparing detailed reports on the loading / discharge operations.
• Ensuring that all HSE company standards are maintained all the time by the vessel crew, stevedores, sub-contractor and third party on board during the ship’s port calls.

Key Qualifications & Skills

Qualifications & Technical Skills

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge and experience in Finite Element Analysis and relevant design standards, motion response, calculations such as stability, structural and strength verification, and structural design and drawings for Classification Society approvals.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Class Societies, Ship Classification Rules, and IMO Rules.
• Skills in AutoCAD and FEA software such as Ansys etc, are required.

Professional Skills

• Preferably having more than 5 years of related experience with cargo planning, structural analysis, and project management.
• Preferably having more than 5 years of related experience as Cargo Superintendent (CSI).
• Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, produce solutions and operate with an eye for detail.
• Self-starter and a committed team player with good interpersonal skills and an analytical mind.
• Well-developed communication and team skills with a dedicated approach to meeting customer requirements.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment.

Objectives of the Position

Manage globally the main group of Niche Antioxidants, ensuring strategic alignment and profitability maximization.

Responsibilities

1. Price management

• Develop global price guidelines & landed cost development forecast.
• Provide global limit and regional base price. Approve deviations from set limits.
• Ensure profitability, volume and value growth according to the budget and long-term strategic plan.

2. Global optimization of cost of supply

• Define and optimize global product strategy (make to stock or make to order)
• Allocate and manage volumes in shortage periods as well as products under declaration of “force majeure”
• Monitor asset utilization and drive inventory optimization for assigned product group.
• Define global co-manufacturing (make-or-buy) and tolling strategy for defined product range. Interact with tollers.
• Manage product transitions from one site to another
• Support restructuring and investment projects for defined product range

3. Product portfolio management

• Analyze the respective portfolio, coordinate, and initiate required actions, e.g., pruning.
• Assure compliance (liaise with product stewardship and regulatory (PS&R)) and quality for the product portfolio (in framework of Non-Conformance Management (NCM) and Management of Change (MOC) process)
• Ensure consistent business case development of innovation projects.
• Develop positioning of new products in line with the global portfolio strategy and re/position existing products in the portfolio. Approve product market introduction (with input from industry segments)
• Define competitive positioning of current and new products in the portfolio.
• Assure the product availability for the launch preparation of a new product.

4. Strategic Business Unit (SBU) strategy development

• Develop, implement and monitor the respective main-group / product strategies in line with global SBU strategy. Define corrective measures where required.
• Guide and challenge key account managers in development of customer strategies
• Support strategic projects in terms of commercial evaluation

5. Functionally drive all portfolio related topics into the regional product management organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Chemistry, Material Science, or Business Management.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in marketing, product management, supply chain, sales, R&D, or production.
• Experienced in annual budget planning and financial control
• Demonstrated leadership without functional or disciplinary responsibility.
• Strong analytical skill, project management, technical and commercial background, preferably from polymer and/or plastic additives industry is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, a good team player who is able to interact in a multicultural and multi-functional environment.
