What you’ll be doing
- You will take a strategic responsibility in growing our revenue and profit while building our assortment strategy based on customers’ needs.
- You will be spearheading the development and expansion of product categories, considering market demand and business objectives.
- You will take ownership on the creation and maintenance of category plans, ensuring a well-balanced and aesthetically coherent product assortment.
- You will define and execute product roadmaps, ensuring a cohesive and market-leading furniture collection.
- You will oversee the end-to-end product development process, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of designer furniture.
- You will work closely with category merchandising team to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and opportunities for innovation.
- You will collaborate with design, marketing, and sales teams to enhance category positioning and optimize product mix in order to create impactful go-to-market strategies and effectively communicate product stories.
- You will collaborate closely with product design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to translate product visions into tangible, market-ready offerings.
- You will manage and mentor a team of category managers, provide strategic guidance on product and category management best practices, ensuring professional growth within the team.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising/ Product Management/ Product Design/ Business/ Economics or equivalent field; advanced degree or equivalent qualification is a plus.
- At least 6 years’ experience in product category management in the furniture and home furnishings industry, preferably with a strong familiarity of the buying process as well. Keen understanding of the current furniture and home furnishings market, with knowledge of existing competitors, and their brand position and value proposition. Experience in category expansion, whilst still maintaining hands-on approach to working with internal & external stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of design trends, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
- Analytical thinker with a keen eye for design and market trends.
- Pro-active, ‘can do’ mentality combined with a track record of successful execution of strategies and activities.
- Charismatic leader with at least 2 years’ experience in leading and managing a team of at least 3 direct reports.
