Position summary:
Embedded within our Commercial Business Management Team, the Digital Business Analyst provides the interface between the Traders, Commercial Analysts and the embedded Information Technology (IT), digital resources, Finance Teams (and other support functions) to develop best practice business analysis tools to explain variances, progress, and changes.
This role has a significant digital and data science focus. The successful applicant will utilise their skills to understand business digital requirements and translate these into technical specifications for the IT department. There is also a strong data science focus incorporation data cleansing, mining, methods of predictive analysis, and data visualization, to translate complex data into easy to understand information reports and market intelligence to inform and directly support our trading activities.
Opportunity for the successful candidate to progressively get a wider and deeper understanding of the GSAT business and develop skills and knowledge over time that would make them suitable for many other roles and career paths within GSAT and with the wider Business & Commercial function.
The Digital Business Analyst reports to GSAT Commercial Business Manager.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Work with the Global IT Advisor, Global LNG Lead and Business Users to document the Digital Vision and Strategy; and provide translation and alignment with IS and digital resources
IT Platform Solutions:
- Understand current business analysis and needs to translate these into business specification documents, working with IT business analyst to provide a well-rounded solution
- Work with the Product Owner/s (PO) and digital resources to understand deliverable timelines and align these with dependency between solutions deliveries, business critical-activities by managing conflicting requirements and multiple timelines
- Work with the PO and digital resources to define and agree the testing strategy; and assist with testing and validating the solution with the business and support functions
- Adopt strong change management and stakeholder engagement to assist with the successful deployment of the solutions into the business; by working with both IS and business for sign-off to deploy the solutions into production.
Digital Solutions:
- Understand the gap between IT Platform Solutions versus business digital solutions; and leverage understanding of best practice data analytical guidelines and digital tools to deliver creative and effective solutions to the business, which may not necessarily have an IS component to them
- Work creatively with digital resources, leveraging preferred tools and methods, to deliver effective solutions to the business using best practice data analytical guidelines and digital tools; solutions include automation of repetitive reporting, development of models and/or simulation tools, working collaboratively with data engineers to maintain and update data infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree holder
- 1-3 years of working experience working in the LNG business preferred.
- Analytical – demonstrated ability to understand and translate digital requirements.
- Communication and Presentation – excellent interpersonal skills, ability to organize and summarize key information and able to leverage analytical, communication and presentation skills to influence and achieve optimum outcomes.
- Teamwork – demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment and as an individual contributor.
- Business Acumen - firm understanding of digital tools and concepts.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications (particularly advanced Excel skills, Power BI (including DAX), PowerApps and Power Automate). Experience using tools such as SQL. Python to manage data, automate, analysis and visualize results
