About the Role
There is no denying of the power of data analytics in leading any business, including QSR, to unlocking growth. Through data, we can build strategies, optimise performance, maximise profit and achieve breakthroughs in establishing and strengthening any organization’s purpose and ambitions.
It is therefore an exciting venture for a motivated, value-driven Data Analytics Manager to join us in this journey for KFC Asia Central and partner our franchisees in unlocking and realizing their full potential.
The scope of this position focuses primarily on KFC Asia Central Franchise business region across 9 markets with the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Hong Kong as the key markets. The exact market assignment will be selected from these main markets and may change from time to time.
This position will be based in Singapore and will require quarterly travel to the franchisee markets and to some global conferences.
What Success Looks Like
The Commercial Data Analytics Manager is responsible for partnering with our franchisees to drive meaningful top-line and bottom-line growth via data-driven insights across a portfolio of franchise markets.
This person will enable the markets to realize their full potential through:
- Collecting a variety of datasets collected from our franchisees and third-party providers, and partnering with the data team to structure and contextualize them
- Analyzing our franchisees business from different angles, crafting the data story, and making recommendations to improve commercial performance
- Building capability in planning and data analytics across functions and franchisee teams through training and collaboration
MAKE A DIFFERENCE... with your role's responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Data & Analytics, this role works closely with the Leadership Teams (LT) of KFC Asia Central Business Unit and of our franchise partners on major job functions including but not limited to:
1. Commercial Data Analytics
- Lead regular, cross-functional business reviews with franchisees, leveraging data and insights
- Drive initiatives that enable franchisees to make data-driven decisions, such as: marketing calendar optimization, promotions and test analysis, channel profitability, media optimization, etc.
- Partner with data team and vendors to continuously improve dashboards, ensuring they are always relevant to evolving business needs
- Support training of franchisees on using the data analytics platform, as well as in building up their analytical capabilities to use data in their day-to-day workflows
2. Strategy and Financial Planning
- Support regular Yum! planning milestones, such as: Annual Operating Plan (AOP), 3-Year Market Growth Plan (MGP) and quarterly business reviews (QBR)
- Contribute to strategic initiatives within Yum! or in partnership with franchisees, such as market turnaround projects or in-depth research studies
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- High exposure to KFC Asia Central Leadership Team and General Manager
- Support cross-functional teams consisting of Yum! / KFC teams and those of ourfranchise partners for identification of business opportunities and developmentof strategies to deliver performance improvement
- Examples of cross-functional collaboration include but not limited to:
- Marketing: Support key initiatives to drive sales growth (e.g. value workshops, testing, menu rationalization)
- Development: Ensure Development Agreement economics are consistent with profit targets
- Operations: Support key initiatives that drive business economics (e.g. delivery, labor optimization)
- Digital: Partner with digital team to understand data captured across different platforms and potential use cases
BRING YOUR BEST SELF... with your top-notch qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification at degree level essential, MBA highly regarded
- 5-10 years of work experience with at least 5 years in a financial or businessanalytics role. Demonstrated ability to assess financial impact and opportunitieshighly regarded
- Advanced Excel capabilities
- Good knowledge of relational databases, SQL and BI tools (e.g. Domo, Power BI)
- Strong business partner with commercial acumen and awareness of the broaderbusiness context
- Ability to conceive ideas to challenge the status quo while balancing attentionto detail
- Proven track record in analyzing data, crafting a coherent story, and makingrecommendations for improvement
- Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills both internally andexternally
- High energy, strong work ethic, and strong integrity
- Commercial experience with a multi-national preferred, with experience in QSR,FMCG and retail industry sectors a bonus
