Job Description
You will be a member of the Group Information Security Team responsible for initiating, implementing and maintaining security products and solutions to support enterprise security.

Key Responsibilities

• Subject matter expert (SME) for the security systems owned by the Information Security Team.
• Ensure security systems are utilised to their maximum capabilities.
• Plan, identify, assess, design, operationalise and maintain multiple security related software and/or hardware.
• Recommend and drive cyber security solution and initiatives to improve cyber security of the organisation.
• Prepare RFQ and evaluation criteria. Proof of concept (POC) during product evaluation. Liaising with vendors to implement security solutions.
• Provide security consultancy, technical guidance, expertise, solutioning and education.
• Advise infrastructure teams on security design that is relevant and fit for purpose.
• Identify and assess cyber risks in the IT infrastructure environment.
• Review firewall requests.
• Keep up to date on emerging security threats and vulnerabilities on new platforms adopted by the SIA Group and propose mitigating controls.
• Any relevant ad-hoc duties. Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
• This is an individual contributor role. Deliver tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills.

Requirements

• Degree in IT or related field, with at least 5 years in information security, especially in the application security space.
• Professional security certifications (CISSP, CSSLP, CEH etc) preferred.
• Experience in security products POC and RFQ.
• Prior experience in implementing and maintaining any of tools for EDR, XDR, SOAR, SIEM, UEBA, PAM, AM etc. and/or network security. Able to review firewall requests.
• Technical proficiency in one or more of the following security areas: network design, zero trust, Internet of Things, cryptography etc.
• Familiar with common web/mobile application vulnerabilities and technical knowledge to address and mitigate vulnerabilities. Any prior vulnerability management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, hacking and exploit methods etc.
• Strong oral, written, presentation and inter-personal skills.
• Possess positive attitude with drive, initiative, enthusiasm, and a keen sense of urgency in resolving high-priority issues.
• Able to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Infrastructure Management
  • Architect, design, and implement cloud-based solutions that align with both business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to seamlessly integrate cloud solutions.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies to automate and streamline the deployment and management of cloud resources.
  • Continuously optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze cloud performance, making proactive adjustments as needed.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams on cloud architecture and best practices.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in cloud computing.
  • Recommend appropriate cloud services based on project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in cloud security.
  • Conduct regular security audits and assessments.
  • Manage vendor relationships with cloud service providers and technology vendors, stay updated with vendor offerings, and negotiate contracts.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on cloud architecture, participate in technical discussions and provide guidance to stakeholders.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and hands-on support to help teams develop necessary skills and expertise.
  • Plan, implement, and maintain SMU's enterprise and research infrastructure (HPC), including private and public cloud computing, as well as all relevant research hardware to meet SMU's diverse research computing needs.
  • Plan, formulate, and architect the growth of research infrastructure (HPC) to cater to the needs of SMU researchers, enhancing faculty productivity in research.
  • Manage and administer of CMDB system to ensure the completeness and currency of asset information.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute system operation procedures (e.g., IT Disaster Recovery) to improve service availability, reliability, and redundancy.
• Consultancy and Support
  • Collaborate with business units to gain a better understanding of their goals, technical requirements, and current infrastructure.
  • Develop tailored cloud solutions that align with business requirements, focusing on scalability, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide support to business units in their Cloud project initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot issues, resolve technical challenges, and deliver ongoing support after post-implementation.
  • Conduct induction programs to raise awareness of cloud computing and research platforms within the SMU community. Develop presentations, documentation, and user guides for individuals utilizing cloud computing services and High-Performance Computing Clusters (HPCC).
• Projects
  • Manage IT projects for existing system enhancement and new system implementation.
  • Establish project plans, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and review project performance against key metrics.
  • Maintain a risk tracker and mitigation plan.
  • Provide status updates and reports on project progress.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to the project team.
  • Manage expectations and address concerns proactively.
  • Ensure the project is kept within the project scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation throughout the project life cycle.

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or equivalent from an established Institution
• Relevant Cloud platform certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Solution Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.
• Relevant Linux System Administration certifications (e.g. Red Hat Certified System Administrator) are a plus.
• At least 5 years of work experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure Cloud.
• Proficient in Cloud computing concepts, architectures, and service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS);
• Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including their services and features;
• Networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and routing in cloud environments;
• Cloud security principles, encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and compliance requirements;
• Cloud platform monitoring, logging, and alerting tools to ensure the performance and reliability of cloud resources;
• Infrastructure provisioning and management tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Working knowledge of DevOps methodologies, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and automation tools;
• Containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes;

Responsibilities:

• Be the Hadoop Subject Matter Expert to engage with customers to provide technological solutions as well as operational improvement recommendations Hadoop infrastructure platforms & Hadoop eco-system incl. Linux & storage
• Lead the teams on technical directions for the different Hadoop platforms that run 24x7 and support customer critical production operations
• Major Incident support (service recovering & root cause troubleshooting) for Hadoop and Hadoop eco-system incl. Linux & storage related issues, including communications to senior management and customer.

· Required to get “hands-on” where needed and work along the technical team

· Support the Hadoop Platform with the tools OOZIE, Apache Ni Fi, Java & Unix must knowledge

· Well-versed knowledge on Network, Storage and API’s creation and debugging

· Knowledge on supporting the applications on Big data platform and Debugging knowledge of YARN

· Write/debug Python code for the designed frameworks

· Control the Hadoop clusters with proper access controls and apply the security with the tools Ranger, Kerberos

· Coordinate with product vendors to setup/configure infrastructure, network, nodes

· Write automation scripts for any alerts and monitoring dashboards from automation perspective with Python

· Maintaining and troubleshooting the Environment with Ambari

· Integrate Solution knowledge between Hadoop and Reporting tools like Tableau, MicroStrategy, SAS, HDF

· Solutioning different Disaster Recovery approaches for Bigdata

· Tuning and scaling up clusters with several proposals

· Migrating the HDP clusters to CDP cluster or to the Azure cloud

Skillset:

· Hadoop Hortonworks admin or support L3 Knowledge

· Certification CDP Administration

· Certification RedHat Linux Administration added advantage

Job Responsibilities

· Perform Technical Helpdesk Support to call in customers for all IT products and services distributed by the company

· Manages IT Hotline for urgent requests and Helpdesk email for requests for support

· Assist in Setup of new PCs and Installation of Standard Office Application

· Troubleshooting of Problems Encountered by End Users

· Provides level 1 support for IT needs.

· Provide front line support for key field service activities in line with customers’ requirements.

· Update service record into database promptly and accurately,

· Perform Asset Tagging

· Perform rework on products and deployment when required.

· Assist in answering to customer enquiry and feedback

· To conduct all field service activities within the boundaries of health and safety policies. Risk control elements covering all relevant aspects of the field service role must be adhered to at all times

· Provide accurate, factual reports to the team leader or technical support personnel to enable informed decisions to be made on a course of action to resolve product issues
