As the Preschool Vice Principal at Little Village, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Principal and ensuring the smooth functioning of our centre. Collaborating with dedicated educators and working closely with parents, you will provide an exceptional learning experience for our young learners. Your responsibilities include educational leadership, curriculum development, staff management, parent engagement, and administrative duties.
Job Description:
1. Educational Leadership: Assisting the Principal in developing and implementing a comprehensive inquiry-based educational program that aligns with the centre's philosophy, policies, and objectives. Providing guidance and support to teachers to ensure high-quality instruction and student achievement.
2. Curriculum Development: Collaborating with teachers to develop and enhance the inquiry-based curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching strategies and ensuring it meets the needs of diverse learners. Conducting regular assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum.
3. Staff Management: Assisting in the recruitment, selection, and professional development of teaching and support staff. Conducting regular performance evaluations, training, and providing constructive feedback to promote growth and excellence.
4. Parent Engagement: Building strong partnerships with parents and guardians through effective communication, addressing concerns, and maintaining a positive and inclusive centre community.
5. Administrative Duties: Assisting in the development and implementation of centre policies and procedures. Overseeing administrative tasks such as student enrolment, scheduling, budget management, maintenance, and record-keeping to ensure efficient centre operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, including leadership or administrative roles.
- Strong knowledge of child development theories, best practices, and current trends in early childhood education.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using educational technology and software.
