JOB PURPOSE

The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the overall performance of a business unit with regards to sales, margin, inventory, quoting strategies, suppliers, and the ongoing development of the employees.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Set & achieve sales and margin budgets & objectives

• Perform all necessary research and analysis to establish achievable but yet aggressive sales and profit margin goals by class and by supplier.

Business unit quarterly business review

• Review entire business KPI (Key performance indicators) with business unit. Determine actions required to meet objectives. This is an all-encompassing review: sales, inventory, profit margin, in addition to performance to SLA (Service Level Agreement); supplier performance, customer performance, staff development, etc.

Supplier relationship management

• Build and maintain relationships with all suppliers at the appropriate levels. Supplier Champions are assigned for each supplier.

DPP pricing negotiation

• In conjunction with the Global Commodity Manager, negotiate preferential pricing for Future on stocking devices. For focus suppliers, the Director is responsible.

Product knowledge

• Understand the basic technologies for which you are responsible. Top end applications, basic electronic function the product does in a circuit. Understand the market trends of the end application as fluctuations can influence supply and demand.

Market knowledge

• Understand and communicate competitive landscape, product availability, pricing trends.
• Maintain close scrutiny on market conditions (lead-time and lead-time trends) to establish when inventory needs to be increased in anticipation of future market developments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and prepare meeting agenda for communication meetings. Present & discuss relevant information in a timely and effective manner. It should include topics such as Service Level Agreement, sales, profit margin, quoting, training, market conditions.
• Negotiate special returns with suppliers where we require additional flexibility outside of contractual rotation/scrap allowance. In addition, special returns need to be actioned by any individual who is able to use their relationship, developed with the supplier, to gain a favor.
• Identify and maintain parts in inventory where sales and marketing needs to be alerted to tightened availability for appropriate business reasons (market conditions, manufacturing issues, etc).
• Approval of quotes based on a dollar threshold set by business unit.
• As appropriate, visit selected customers in the field, and participate in customer visits at corporate headquarters. Prepare and present appropriate information.
• Expedite existing supplier purchase back orders for stocking and/or specific customer requirements. For those situations where greater effort and relationship is required to achieve satisfactory results.
• Target and sign new franchises.
• Determine initial inventory investment, execute on supplier development plan.
• Perform range reviews to determine top non line items to create and purchase.
• Assign quotes by branch and balance workload across quoting positions in a business unit.
• Update cost books, lead-time, factory stock, cross reference files for dashboard and business unit shared drive.
• Adjust CBO pricing upwards in appropriate business conditions (supplier cost increase, restricted availability, etc).
• Prepare and present product related material to increase knowledge base of marketers and / or sales. Includes arrangement of suppliers / reps to conduct training sessions.

REQUIREMENTS

• A Degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant field of study.
• At least 5 years of relevant working experience focused on product marketing.
• Experienced in the electronics industry within distribution, component manufacturers and/or EMS companies is highly advantageous but not a must.
• Overseas travel is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities

1) Organizational Risk Management, Operational Risk Management

i. Develop, review and maintain risk management tools to perform the required assessment

ii. Enhance the effectiveness of the existing Organizational Risk Management framework

iii. Control, facilitate and consolidate Organizational Risk Register to report to senior management

iv. Provide key support to facilitate the completion of the Residual Risk Assessment, working closely with the business units to identify key risks and controls, evaluate inherent and residual risks, and establish mitigation plans as needed

v. Identify and assess key operational risk areas and control gaps. Work with the business units to mitigate the risk and improve controls where necessary

vi. Organize and facilitate Risk Committee and Operational Risk Committee in risk cartography process (bank’s risk assessment exercise) to identify the key organizational and operational risk and coordinate validation meetings with business units to review the key risks which will affect their areas and will assess and ensure there are action plans in place

2) Outsourcing, New Product/Business check

i. Reviewing outsourcing and third-party management related documents such as policy, procedure, manual, and outsourcing register to comply with the new MAS outsourcing Notice, Guidelines and related documents.

ii. Ensuring, facilitating and supporting outsourcing process and framework are compliant with MAS Outsourcing Guidelines including consolidation of outsourcing reports to MAS

iii. Support other departments in new and periodic third-party management reviews.

iv. Facilitate and provide support in setting up New Product Committee to study/review new products or businesses

3) Business Continuity Management

i. Review and maintain the BCM framework to ensure compliance with regulatory requirement.

ii. Control, facilitate and consolidate BIA/BCP results from the business units

iii. Plan, coordinate and conduct BCP test, including call tree exercise.

4) Branch Self Audit (BSA), Control Self-Assessment (CSA), Branch Manual List

i. Managing Branch Self Audit

ii. Managing Control Self-Assessment Framework/activities and report to Head Office (HO)

iii. Managing a process to ensure Policies, Practice Guides and Procedures are reviewed and refreshed on a regular basis

5) Environmental Risk Management (EnRM)

i. Maintain and develop a framework which appropriately manages environmental risks to meet expectations from the regulators with coordinating with related departments.

i. Assisting and supporting HO in all Organizational & Operational risk administration & projects deliverables

ii. Responsible for projects as and when assigned. Mentoring junior staff.

Requirement

1) Bachelor’s degree holder

2) Preferably with at least 4 years of relevant experience in organizational/operational risk management

3) Possess good communication skills required to engage stakeholders, escalate issues in a timely manner to management for direction and resolution

4) Proficient in Microsoft Excel

5) Basic understanding of Financial Markets and Risk processes (from risk reporting through approval, through Post-approval monitoring)

6) Has good understanding of risk management process and implementing process controls. Experience in working/implementing such method

7) Proficient in Japanese to liaise with Japanese counterparts & handle Japanese documentation would be advantageous but not mandatory

About the Role

Administrative Support (10%):

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Asset Management department is responsible for BW Group vessels management activities such as investment/divestment of vessels, identify business opportunities, generate returns through asset play, long term projects and/or forward paper markets as well as supporting other business units in their sales and purchase activities through service agreements.

Responsibilites

• Update, verify and maintain records of vessel details and tonnage transactions in the company's Master Data Management (MDM) database
• Gain knowledge and skills related to the industry and apply knowledge to the tasks assigned
• Monitor and analyse market trends
• Assist with the preparation of monthly report
• Assist with the vessel(s) sales and purchase delivery documentation
• Assist and responsible for sending out routine reports
• Participate in any other ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities as required

• Demonstrate a good attitude and willing to learn fundamentals of shipping market and basic financial knowledge
• Ability to work in a precise and accurate manner while under time pressure
• Well versed with Microsoft Office products (i.e Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Good presentation skills and be able to communicate well; both verbally and in a written format
• Good collaboration and team player, fit well with the team

About your role:

Business Management:

• Spearhead the departments internal communication and engagement plan - assist in the planning, execution, and/or coordination of meetings, forums, and/or internal events. Responsible for regular and ad hoc senior management reporting and presentations.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business and operational performance, and identify areas for improvement.
• Oversee smooth functioning of day-to-day administrative activities with support of the departments Executive Assistant

Governance:

• Support orchestration and delivery of governance mechanisms ensuring that appropriate decisions, forums and documentation are made to support running of department.

Portfolio Management:

• Support development and management of comprehensive business plans, including financial projections, budget, workforce and risk assessments,to support decision-making processes.
• Provide leadership in project management, monitoring progress across departmental portfolio and applying corrective actions.

Your background:

• Bachelor Degree in a related field.
• Proven experience in strategy development, business management, and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights (proven ability to bring order to unstructured problems).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Project management experience, demonstrating the ability to lead cross-functional teams to successful project completion.
• In-depth knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and regulatory frameworks.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation and dependencies and drive project execution from initiation to closure
• Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability, ensuring strong cross functional teamwork and alignment to project goals and objectives
• Effectively communicate project progress, status, and key decisions to stakeholders, including senior management, and provide regular updates on project metrics, risk and dependencies
• Own and be responsible for the successful delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, meeting requirements and within allocated budget.
• Manage project lifecycle, from requirement, design, technical construction, testing, acceptance, training, documentation and implementation, in accordance with the Project Management Process and Methodology.
• Work closely with Project Lead/Owner or Sponsor to drive strategic or major initiatives as part of the organization’s roadmap and strategy
• Participate in pre-project activities such as estimation of project efforts, preparation of high-level project plan with project timeline and resource requirements/staffing and organization of project team.
• Manage relationships across all departments, partners including external parties (vendor and/or outsource partners), defining requirements, agreeing terms, and ensuring delivery in accordance to agreed timeline
• Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent with min. 7 years of experience in IT Project Management in the financial industry
• Demonstrated good knowledge and technical proficiency in corporate banking cross border payment area and project management.
• Experience in managing the entire software development practices, various development methodologies and implementation
• In-depth knowledge on Project Management and Business Analysis
• Possess strong leadership, capable of managing stakeholders and maintaining relationships in large scale projects
• Strong team management skills, influencing skills and collaborative team player
• Possess strong and assertive verbal, written communication and presentation skills
• Strong delivery management experience, with proven track records in managing and steering projects towards smooth execution and on time delivery.
