The successful candidate would be required to:

• To assist the section manager in the implementation, review and improvement of yard’s Safety Management System to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
• Manage the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) activities to ensure that the organisation complies with external regulations and standards
• Monitor and evaluate the organisation’s overall HSE performance to identify any recurring problems; research, evaluate and recommend changes to technology, equipment, systems or processes that will improve the organisation’s HSE performance
• Keep up to date with proposed and actual changes in HSE regulations so that the organisation’s HSE policy remain current and relevant
• Recommend and formulate safety policies and procedures
• Provide assistance to work process with safety planning and incident prevention
• Evaluate and review sub-contractors safety program and procedure compliance
• Assist in the development and implementation of HSE training programmes, safety audits and safety evaluation process
• Be prompt and efficient in the handling of incident and accident investigation
• To maintain and complete HSE reports and documentation
• Stay abreast of latest HSE trends and best practices for implementation on site

The ideal candidate should preferably possess:

• At least 3 years of HSE experience in the marine industry and have proven experience of maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
• A minimum Diploma or Degree in any Engineering disciplines while a Specialist in Workplace Safety and Health is preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A keen eye for detail and an inquisitive mind to question and uncover truth
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite of applications for management reports

The candidate will assist the company secretaries in handling a portfolio of companies and his/her responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of resolutions and minutes of directors and shareholders, attending to the opening/closing of bank & other corporate accounts and updating of such mandates,
• Timely lodgement of documents with ACRA, preparing/maintaining statutory records and computerized client database; providing client support through phone and email correspondence;
• Complying with the clients’ standard operating procedures
• Performing any other ad-hoc assignments as may be assigned

Training will be provided.

Qualifications, Competencies and Other Requirements

• Preferably an ICSA holder, or a candidate from the polytechnic or university planning to pursue the ICSA course. Candidate with ICSA membership will be an added advantage.
• Good command of English and good verbal and writing skills; able to communicate clearly and effectively.
• 2-3 years of experience in corporate secretarial work and conversant with Singapore corporate secretarial practices and the Singapore Companies Act (will be an added advantage)
• Technology skills and ability to learn, adapt and leverage on technology.
• Good time management, attention to detail, follow through, staying informed with organizational initiatives and priorities.
• Able to prioritize, work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle clients professionally.
• Able to work collaboratively in a team yet able to carry out tasks assigned independently.

What will you do

• Prepare and maintain financial reports and accounting records in accordance with corporate guidelines, corporate timelines and local statutory requirements
• Manage the full spectrum of the accounting functions, including payables and receivables, fixed assets management, general ledger, and cash flow management
• Prepare monthly journal and balance sheet reconciliations, checking and ensuring proper accounting treatment, completeness, and accuracy
• Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information
• Assist in the preparation of the quarterly GST report and review annual tax returns
• Coordinate and liaise with external parties (e.g. external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, local tax and government authorities) where required
• Collaborating with stakeholders to seek for continuous improvements in internal processes
• Support finance team on ad-hoc tasks and projects.
