The postdoctoral fellow will work closely with Asst. Prof. Patrick Rebentrost in the intersection of quantum algorithms and optimization, machine learning and/or finance. Sample topics include quantum algorithms for problems in supervised and unsupervised machine learning, algorithmic learning theory, and online learning, and quantum algorithms for financial problems such as portfolio optimization, pricing of financial derivatives, and hedging. The job will include the development of quantum algorithms in these areas, with provable quantum advantages and provable guarantees, when possible, in fault-tolerant models of quantum computation. The job will also include the development of algorithms that are easier to execute on available hardware such as variational and post-variational methods and quantum approximate optimization. Furthermore, the aim is to provide hardware implementations on available devices, comparisons between available hardware providers, and classical simulations of the quantum algorithms. For this purpose, the successful applicant will be granted significant independence concerning their research and receive generous travel funding. They will be expected to contribute to the group, for example by co-supervising student projects and assisting with outreach activities.

Main Responsibilities

• To deal with the day-to-day administration of a varied and complex portfolio of trust and company structures, and to maintain a wide knowledge and understanding of company and trust administration generally, including money laundering, compliance, and relevant legislation.
• Work closely with the Head of Trust Services and Business Development Director with the onboarding of new business within the Group.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• An enhanced level of technical knowledge to include more complex areas of trust & corporate products, investments, accounting and tax law, legislation, and regulation. This includes Discretionary Trust, Reserved Power Trust, Revocable/Irrevocable Trust, Private Trust Company (PTC), Employee Benefit Trust (EBT)/Employee Share Option Trust (ESOP) etc.
• Relevant professional qualification (ACCA, ICSA, or STEP preferred) together with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the trust industry at the management level.
• Excellent organizational and client management skills, together with full knowledge of current company and trust legislation, and the local regulatory environment. This includes a high level of awareness of risk factors and compliance procedures.
• Professional manner with the ability to relate to persons at all levels, and to identify client's needs, responding to these quickly and effectively.
• Excellent people management skills including a high level of integrity, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to multi-task.
• Good time management skills, together with a thorough understanding of client files. In addition, the post holder should have a strong appreciation of the importance of financial markets issues.
• Good interpersonal skills, with the flexibility to attend after-hours functions where relevant.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the company’s strategy, procedures and policies, compliance, and technical issues to enable you to act as a role model for peer group and junior staff.

Purpose of the job:

The Institutional Investors Associate will play a key role in the growth of the GCIB Institutional Investors team and will support ongoing portfolio management of institutional investor clients within Singapore and the broader APAC region where required. This support will be critical to their role, with a core focus on customer servicing and risk management.

Customer

Management of customer requests: Support the Relationship Managers in managing customer needs. Job Requirements:

Education & Professional Qualifications

• Minimum Degree in Business or Commerce or Finance
• Masters of Finance, MBA or CFA will be considered favourably

Length & Type of Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in banking
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in global institutional banking and credit research
• Candidate with experience across Institutional Investor clients is a plus.
• We may also consider candidates from chartered accounting firms, investment banks, investment management or from a treasury team in general corporates.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Good knowledge of institutional investor industry, Fund Financing products, Global Market products, analytical skills and MS excel skills;
