We are seeking talented postdoctoral or research fellows to join the Genome Re-InnovaTion-Lab (https://grit-lab.org/), part of Synthetic Biology Translational Research Programme (TRP) at the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The Synthetic Biology TRP aims to develop novel genome editing tools, specifically by engineering existing CRISPRs, enhancing functionality through combinations with other enzymes, and screening desired mutants from the library via directed evolution.

This project aims to automate the design of origami-based deployable building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) to mitigate the energy consumption of skyscrapers. Buildings worldwide account for a third of energy consumption, BIPV offers a sustainable solution, embedding solar panels into building exteriors. However, the complexity of BIPV installation and a lack of skilled professionals impede their broader adoption. Job Purpose and Application Details

Tropical coral reefs throughout Asia are under threat from climatic change and anthropogenic stress. Declines in coral reef health combined with sea-level rise are expected to lead to structural collapse and drowning of coral reefs, undermining the ecosystem services they provide, including protecting coastal communities from coastal erosion and flooding. However, there is considerable uncertainty in these projections as there is a paucity of data on contemporary rates of reef growth on which to model future transformations. This project addresses this critical gap in knowledge, and through novel application of recent advances in high-precision measurement techniques will construct the first high-resolution direct measurements of contemporary coral reef growth in Southeast and South Asia.

The Signature Research Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) aims to pioneer the development and discovery of new and more effective methods for the treatment, prevention and control of new and emerging pathogens. Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to set up the human intestinal organoid culture and study intestinal infection models with relevant clinical bacterial isolates. The RA’s principal role will be to work in cell culture models, grow and maintain clinical bacterial isolates, perform confocal microscopy studies and to assist in working with animal models of gut colonization.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will be accountable to the Principle Investigator (PI). The RA will be able to:

1. Oversee the general management of the project;
2. Provide administrative and secretarial support to the project, such as organizing regular meetings to maintain regular communication with other members of the research team and collaborate with other relevant parties;
3. Undertake the day to day running of the project;
4. Conduct literature searches, analyse data and participate in inventory stock taking in the lab, procurement of reagents and services, as well as routine lab maintenance;

6. Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.
