The Environment Laboratory Cluster is based in NTU's School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.  It consists of three laboratories:

• Chem-Analytics Lab – Key Teaching and Research Laboratory

• M-Lab – Key Teaching and Research Laboratory

• Environ Engineering Lab – Undergraduate Teaching Laboratory

These laboratories are used for both teaching and research in environmental science and engineering. It is an excellent location for education, research, and innovation. Each laboratory is distinctive in its own way and has a variety of cutting-edge analytical instruments that are widely used for research and industry services.

The incumbent will assist the Lab Technical-In-Charge in laboratory operations, safety, undergraduate laboratory sessions, research projects, and IT assistance. He or she will ensure compliance with health and safety laws and maximise and promote research staff and student safety. He or she will also oversee the budget, timeline, and laboratory safety of new research projects.

In addition to overseeing laboratory operations, undergraduate laboratory sessions, and administrative aspects, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring their seamless functioning. Finally, beyond the scope of the job, he or she will be responsible for managing the laboratory's information technology-related aspects to ensure that it is at the forefront of technological innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Provide contact and non-contact teaching support in the Undergraduate Laboratory Sessions and Final Year Projects for the School

• Procurement of equipment, licensing or maintenance contracts, etc.

• Ensure the implementation and compliance of the laboratory’s Workplace Safety and Health policies and regulations.

• Provide full technical and administrative support in the laboratory’s daily operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.

• A minimum of two years of direct work experience in a laboratory environment.

• Extensive technical knowledge and hands-on experience with scientific instruments such as the Differential Scanning Calorimeter, Gas Pycnometer, UV Visible Spectrometer (Liquid / Solid), and High Performance Liquid Chromatograph System.

• Thorough knowledge of chemical usage and handling, as well as chemical, biological, and solid waste disposal.

• Meticulous and systematic in managing laboratory daily operations (including chemical inventory, equipment maintenance, budgeting, and chemical and radiation licences).

• Client delivery as part of an on-site or remote project team, able to define the framework and structure of deliverables, carrying out the production of complex deliverables 
• Manage the work, activities, and timelines of work for both them and their team, identifies priorities and workflows for interested parties 
• Utilizing a higher-level understanding of methodological concepts, coaches teammates in preparing client deliverables utilizing tools like PowerPoint, Excel, Access, MS Project and Visio, designing key deliverables for projects and supporting other consultants in the production of their deliverables

Team Summary

The Client Incentive Operations (CIO) team manages incentive contracts with financial institutions and clients by assessing the appropriate accounting treatment, monitoring contract performance and making payouts as per contractual obligations.

What a Finance Manager does at Visa:

The Finance Manager, Client Incentive Operations, reports to the Senior Director and will serve as a key member of the Client Incentive Operations team.  This role will take a lead in the cluster and will partner closely with the Finance Business Partner to provide greater value to Sales and other stakeholders.

Contract Administration

• Review of contractual obligations and commitments for complex incentive contracts and build such computations into the incentive computation system
• Review of contractual payments in accordance with the terms of contracts
• Provide guidance to stakeholders on complex deal structure
• Act as an approver role for incentive adjustments and payments
• Ensure compliance with Visa’s accounting policy, US GAAP and SOX controls and timely and accurate accounting and reporting
• Champion the creation and maintenance of high standards of financial discipline and accountability within the geography
• Responsible for assigned reports or deliverables.
• Own performance metrics and drive efficiencies through automation and improvement of business processes

Business / Team Engagement

• Effectively translate technical accounting treatment and financial analysis to stakeholders to ensure full understanding of contractual language
• Partner closely with Finance Business Partners to provide support to all stakeholders in the cluster
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance Business Partners, Client Contract Management, Legal and other stakeholders as needed on contract structuring
• Foster a collaborative team environment and provide effective coaching and mentoring to more junior team members

Project Management

• Drive process improvements and streamlining projects and initiatives
• Spearhead ad hoc projects to further improve the overall performance of the team and processes

Client Incentives are a strategic leaver used to win and maintain Visa revenues.  They also form a material component of our Revenue and Balance Sheet.  Efficient and effective processes and systems are key to delivering this strategy and meeting our SEC reporting requirements. 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
