What we're looking for:

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices (GAAP, IFRS)
• Experience with month-end closing, year-end audit processes, inter-company accounting, and a proven track record of solving accounting problems
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to train and mentor junior team members
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Quickbooks)
• Experience with GST (Goods and Services Tax) filing a plus

Accountant Position

We are seeking trustworthy candidates who work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy. Accountants can expect to work with large amounts of numerical data, handle multiple tasks with deadlines, and provide transparent and complete reports to management. You should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations and possess strong computer and verbal and written communication skills.

The incumbent will be fully responsible for the management of the company’s accounts and human resource function from start to finish and must be proactive, diligent and able to work with minimal supervision.

Accountant Responsibilities:

• Perform full set accounts including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet schedules, reconciliation of accounts, financial statements and reporting packages.
• Providing monthly performance/variance analysis.
• Handle statutory reporting (Corporate Tax/GST/ Audit).
• Complying with all company, local accounting and financial regulations.
• Keeping informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting.
• Maintain accounting documents and records to ensure they are properly filed and documented.
• Any other ad-hoc matters as requested.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

- Maintain and prepare the full set of accounts for the Group of companies.

- Manage budgeting, cash flow and treasury management for the organisation.

- Filing of MAS reports, Annual Accounts, GST, FATCA, and CRS with regulators.

- Review the monthly/ quarterly management accounts prepared by our offshore subsidiaries.

- Coordinate and liaise with service providers on Fund Administration, Auditors, Tax and other matters.

- Assist with the coordination of the quarterly reporting process for multiple Funds/Special Purpose Vehicles, including preparation of quarterly reports.

- Assist with Fund operations including appraisal process, investor communications and compliance.

- Assist with ad-hoc projects as assigned.

PURPOSE: 

• Lead / Support FBAP group legal accounting consolidation process ensuring accounting compliance for the group
• Support preparation of FBAP legal accounting book ensuring compliance with all local accounting, tax and regulatory requirements and standards
• Lead / support daily FBAP finance operations (accounting, treasury)
• Lead / support improvement of FBAP financial consolidation processes
• Lead / support process improvement initiatives within FBAP and the group
• Lead / support compliance monitoring activities and improvement of governance in financial accounting practices within FBAP and the group
• Prepare for documents for tax related inquiries from FBAP tax manager

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:

• Lead / support FBAP group consolidation process to ensure reporting to Corporate is on time and accurate.
• Review and liaise with subsidiaries on legal accounting numbers
• Assist manager to oversee daily operations of the finance function. Support operations as needed.
• Check for compliance with group accounting policies and group guidelines
• Prepare accurate and timely report for stakeholders
• Support preparations for tax related inquiries based on requests of FBAP tax managers
• Initiate / support improvements in group consolidation processes / finance operations and related areas
• Review OpCos compliance / monitoring reports. Suggest / initiate / lead improvements as needed. Provide timely reporting to Corporate in a timely manner
• Lead / support finance related projects to improve productivity, compliance or governance and provide recommendations for improvements. This also includes the broad spectrum of project management activities.
• Support Accounting Enhancement Project led by Finance Project Team
• Lead other ad-hoc projects & duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years of experience in accounting operations, or in an audit environment
• Degree in Accountancy
• CPA Preferred
• Experience in Big 4 is a bonus
• Strong Microsoft office skills, especially Excel
• Solid experience in consolidation within MNC environment
• Solid experience in process improvement implementation
• Experience with Cognos Controller is advantageous
• Experience in ERP systems
• Experience in compliance & controls
• Experience in taxation matters
• Strong project management skills. Includes planning, negotiation, risk management & leadership.
• Strong IT skills
• Ability to handle stress in a rapidly changing environment
