Job Description

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for implementing sourcing plans and tactics to effectively manage the sourcing activities related to their assigned portfolio to maximize supplier performance (cost, quality, lead time) and support the business plan in the GeoUnit. The position reports to the Sourcing and Supplier Leader

Successful Sourcing Specialist are excellent communicators, enjoy solving problems, and work well in teams and external suppliers.

Specific deliverables and responsibilities

• Implement sourcing plans with the goal of assuring specified quality, meeting required delivery times, and minimizing cost.
• Document the performance of action plans and timelines for assigned sourcing projects.
• Select a high-performance supply base for assigned portfolio, in accordance with a short-list of preferred suppliers defined by Category Managers.
• Conduct requests for information, quotation, information, proposal (RFI/Q/P) and bidding processes, minimizing risk and maximizing value in terms of quality, delivery and cost.
• Evaluate current and prospective suppliers through supplier reviews, site visits and audits, in coordination with Supplier Quality teams, to assure supply capabilities, on-time delivery, quality and service.
• Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to meet specified quality, delivery and cost objectives.
• Execute contract negotiation and development in coordination with Sourcing Manager and Contract Specialists.
• Drive the parts and process qualification in coordination with Supplier Quality teams.
• Work closely with Sourcing Manager or Sourcing Leader to guarantee supply for portfolios.
• Identify opportunities and implement actions to continually reduce wasted time, money, and resources from assigned tasks.
• Comply with Schlumberger and local procedures applicable to the job function.

Experience in the following areas is required:

• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in Supplier Management in fast pace MNC.
• Effective communication, influencing, problem-solving, negotiation, presentation skills.
• Good Supplier Relationship Management and the ability to navigate the MNC organization.
• Relevant Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration/Management or Engineering.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

Experience in the following areas is desired:

• Sharepoint, SAP, Ariba

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assisting in the production and assembling of products and accessories accordingly.
• Inspecting and QC for incoming orders, finalizing the stock.
• Operating some small equipment/forklift.
• In addition, carry out basic quality checks such as testing of product or packaging before shipping.
• Verify incoming goods against Purchase Orders or invoices. Ensure all outgoing goods are properly packed for deliveries or self-collection.
• Maintain proper storage and organization of products to facilitate efficient picking and packing processes.
• Conduct regular stock counts to ensure accurate inventory levels.
• Accurately pick products from inventory for allocation and shipment.
• Assist with additional tasks as required to support team operations.

Training will be provided.

• Who have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Able to ensure the workstation is clean at all times and free from any hazardous substances
• Have the passion to learn new things.

Summary of role requirements:

• No experience required for this role

• Supervise daily production activities
• Responsible for production scheduling and materials allocation
• Ensure proper handling of machines by operators
• Ensure adequate supply of materials for production to meet orders
• Ensure availability and proper housekeeping of all cutting tools
• Conduct quality checks on finished products
• Highlight any quality, production issues, machine malfunctioning to the immediate attention of Operations Manager and/or relevant Sales personnel
• Review work processes, practices for continuous improvement to raise efficiency in operation
• Ensure Work place Safety and Health practices are in place
• Supervise and motivate the production leaders and operators
• Perform related duties as and when required as assigned by the Management

Requirements:

• Willing to be hands-on at work
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required for effective communication with team members who speak only Mandarin.
• Knowledge in SAP is an added advantage
• Must be willing to work in Tuas
