Machine Shop Manager

• Supervise and coordinate directly with all employees who are engaged in the repair and maintenance, replacement and additions and alterations of the hospital’s physical plant.
• Ensures compliance with statutory regulations, facilitate renewal of licenses, and also abide by hospital’s policy and SOPs
• Compliant with all regulations pertaining to facilities management and obtain all required licenses and certifications

Qualifications and Certifications:

• Degree in any engineering discipline from recognized University
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in facilities management
• Fire Safety Manager

• Remove, disassembly and assembly of Pumps and other rotating equipment.
• Overhauling of various types of gear train equipment.
• Alignment and experience in using dial indicator, laser alignment kit etc.
• Technique and principles of rotating equipment lubrication.
• Mechanical seal, O rings and its application.
• Steam turbine repair and maintenance.
• Coupling removal and installation.
• Cooling tower fans and gearbox repair and maintenance.
• Blowers, air compressor and fan repair and maintenance.
• Familiar with bearing and its application and handling.
• Familiar with general purpose machinery monitoring equipment.
• Some knowledge on the subject of vibration.
• Familiar with preventive maintenance procedures and its implementation.
• Familiar with some tools for measuring machinery equipment performance.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Effective delegation and control of resources for optimum productivity.
• Welfare of department personnel and identification of training needs.
• Continual appraisal of department personnel.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory, company, quality, environment, occupational health and safety standards and procedures.
• Plan, implement, and demonstrate continual improvement in occupational health and safety, quality, environment and productivity.
• Succession plan within the department.
• Liaison and coordination with regulatory bodies, clients, consultants, contractors, and internally within the company to satisfy their needs, within commercial controls, and essential requirement.
• Ensure company and project milestones, and commercial controls are achieved by effective planning, logistics, and execution.
• Assessment of consultants, suppliers, subcontractors.
• Ensuring comprehensive inputs to Commercial, Purchase departments, with relevant technical details, support documents.
• Ensuring optimum work processes and equipment utilization.
• Generate, Control and monitor department budgets.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5-10 years in similar management position at marine and/or offshore industries.
• Degree/Diploma in Estate Management, Facility Management & Shipyard Management, Engineering preferably Mechanical or Electrical related. For Diploma holders, prior leadership experience (minimum 5 years) in complex worksite environment will be an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience in managing the maintenance (including but not limited to housekeeping, building and M&E services) of a large-scale industrial property with preference in the marine and offshore industry.
• Knowledge and experience in managing the maintenance of marine related equipment such as gantry crane, crawler crane, docks, forklifts etc.
• Ability and familiarity to engage government agencies for the needful applications/renewals of regulatory certificates to the buildings and equipment within the premise.

What you will do

• Carry out safe and high quality maintenance, service, and repair of process equipment such as process piping, valves, fixed equipment and structures, utilities systems, and marine and truck loading and unloading systems
• Maintain proper records of all jobs performed in the SAP application and participate in mechanical related projects and plant modification work

About you

Skills and Qualifications

• For candidates with no working experience – Minimum NITEC in Engineering
• For candidates with working experience – Minimum N Level certification or equivalent with credits (C6 and above) for English, Mathematics and at least one Science subject (Physics, Chemistry, or Combined Science)
• Relevant work experience in the petrochemical or refining industry will be an advantage
• An effective team player with good communication skills
