About the Industry Development Office Unit

The IDO unit develops strategies and programmes to strengthen the business competitiveness of the Singapore design sector in the global market. We achieve this through supporting the building of unique value propositions with deep research, augmenting business capabilities, and profiling for internationalisation opportunities.

Responsibilities

This role reports to the Deputy Director of IDO and your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Focal strategies to guide industry development:

• Lead and oversee the development of strategies to grow and develop the Singapore design ecosystem to be globally unique, relevant and competitive. This includes support for design businesses to capture new opportunities in the future of sustainable design and design for care, enabled by emerging technologies. Other focal areas may surface as the team engages the industry. Your starting focus will be on sustainable design.

Internationalisation and Profiling:

• Lead the development and implementation of strategies to support Singapore design businesses in internationalisation and be continually aware of global design and business trends to assess appropriate interventions in a rapidly changing business landscape.
• This may include organising a Singapore designers showcase at an international platform like the Milan Design Week or SXSW, along with the generation of international business leads and media coverage, as well as a return showcase in Singapore.

Period Contract and Framework Agreement (PCFA):

• Lead the Dsg team to maintain as well as develop new Period Contracts and Framework Agreement (PCFA) for whole-of-government (WOG) to procure design related services.

Engagement with Internal and External Stakeholders:

• Develop an in-depth understanding of, and characterise, the state of Singapore design and its evolving business needs and aspirations, across the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, urban design and town planning, fashion design, furniture design, visual communications, as well as multi-disciplinary design and emerging practices like service design and experience design.
• Work closely with key stakeholders to identify appropriate cross-collaborations in developing the industry and providing holistic support. Key stakeholders include other units within Dsg, government agencies, design trade associations, and any other leading industry players.

Team Management:

• As a team manager, lead budget management and a dynamic team to achieve work targets. Beyond supervision, your leadership will make a significant impact on team success by inspiring collaboration, fostering individual growth, and shaping a positive work environment.

Requirements

To meet the challenges of this role, you must be/have:

• At least 8 years of relevant work experience in industry development or design management
• At least 5 years of leadership responsibilities, with proven skills in leading projects and project teams
• Have a background or degree preferably in business administration, design management or any design-related fields

Overview:

• As an Associate Director, you will be in an exceptional role unlike elsewhere: one which truly aims and is designed to take already very strong performers to the next level of exceptional performance. Embark on your strategic journey to build, grow or manage a team and/or hold a significant role in the highly adept market management of your remit for EBC. Work closely alongside extremely talented and experienced business leaders in EBC, as well as hold a key gateway and relationship with our sister companies like Chapman Consulting Group (CCG) and international affiliations/lead networks.
• You will hold responsibility to tailor outcomes and shape strategy for yourself, team and EBC as a business with your regional clients. Use your passion for innovation to work intently with internal stakeholders and our Enablement function (talent engagement, marketing, data, research, client directors, training and development) that sets EBC uniquely apart to take already strong performers to exceptional performance levels whilst plunging yourself into our progressive ways of working, mastering our AI technology and state-of-the-art cloud-based CRM platform.
• At Associate Director level, EBC engages with you increasingly about rounding your ability to make big impact at macro levels and top performing attributes – whether leadership abilities, account management, proposing innovative solutions to clients (across retained, SoW, projects, contracting), use of internal technology or revenue performance. You will be groomed and challenged towards full Directorship and be expected to make contributions a little more broadly around the business, helping impact EBC at large.

Experience and Qualifications:

• We are looking for an experienced, successful and entrepreneurial-minded executive recruiter who is well-regarded for the deep knowledge of your specialised recruitment domain, outstanding work ethics, collaborative nature and exceptional client delivery.
• You demonstrate emerging leadership qualities and superior fee generation abilities, speak knowledgably and passionately about your specialised recruitment market and most importantly, the opportunities and key current day levers therein.
• The ideal candidate should have at least 6 to 10 years of recruitment experience in a fast-paced recruitment environment. Candidates with prior experience from recruitment agencies, in-house or RPO teams will be preferred.

Job Description

1. Lead, motivate, and manage the Sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets. Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team

2. Responsible for convert new leads, acquire new prospects, build sales pipeline, accelerate sales cycle and secure deals closure in assigned territories with the objective to meet assigned sales targets

3. Build and maintain strong relationships with Customer’s decision makers and respective partnership network to support ChainUp’s business model

4. Own and drive business aspects of opportunities from lead generation to solution with commercial proposal and contract negotiation by leading business presentations, demonstrations and proof of concepts/ pilot with extended teams

5. Serve as an ambassador between the customer and ChainUp’s Product and Project teams, aligning business requirements, project scope and transiting extended teams to optimal solution development enabling customers’ business

6. Additional assignments that may be included as determined by the management

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree or above in a relevant faculty (e.g. Computer Engineering, Business, Management, Finance)

2. Deep understanding of digital assets/ blockchain/ FSI’s digital ecosystem and technology trends and have a keen interest in the latest developments

3. At least 5 years’ experiences in B2B technology solution sales (with exposure selling to banks and other FIs) is preferred

4. Superior client management and communication skills

5. Good listening, strategic thinking, and creative problem-solving skills

6. Self-motivated, result driven, flexible and customer focused

7. Eager to learn and a strong team player

8. Ability to write and speak fluently in bilingual
