JOB PURPOSE:

Technical Solutions Managers, (TSMs), provide the Applications and Design Solutions to Future’s customer base, utilizing their own design experience and their product knowledge gained during training sessions held by Manufacturers for which Future are franchised.

This is achieved through adopting a ‘Systems Solution’ approach when promoting products and solutions to Future’s customers. This should always be carried out with the goal of maximizing the offerings from Future’s line-card.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· The TSM teams are organized where possible into focus groups. The main four focus business groups are:

1) Micro-controller MCU

2) Analog & Linear

3) Power Discretes

4) Passive & ElectroMechanical products.

· These groupings allow the TSMs to specialize on a product area, whilst still working as part of an overall team.

· By specializing, the TSMs are able to combine their design experience with the knowledge gained through training, enabling them to add value to our customer’s design process.

· The TSMs interface directly with all Future’s customers and all levels of staff and Management within Future.

JOB CONTENT (PRIMARY & SECONDARY FUNCTIONS):

It is the responsibility of the TSMs to carry out the following:

Primary Functions

· Represent Future’s interest at all technical levels and offer a level of support required by Future’s customers to ensure that Future’s customers clearly identify Future with the projects undertaken, thus increasing the probability of Future winning the identified opportunity.

· TSMs are required to work together with Future’s Sales, Product Marketing Department and Suppliers, to establish which products are best suited to Future’s customer base and also which target markets to address. Having identified such products and markets, the TSMs are to promote by way of application examples, demonstration and/or design-in, putting the identified products to Future’s customers.

· Maintain accurate customer information on the Technical database (CRM), allowing all opportunities to be tracked to a successful conclusion.

· Perform associative selling by designing in as many devices as possible for the particular design; so as to capture the most component within the Bill of Material (BOM) list.

Secondary Functions

· Assist in the maintenance of manufacturer’s design registration schemes, thus helping to secure Future’s commercial position within its customer base and ensuring eligibility for any design incentive bonuses.

· Train Future’s sales force and product marketing to provide technical product & application knowledge.

1. Performing or supporting global strategic sourcing initiatives /global supplier deals regarding Network Capacity demand. => presales savings and winning bids in cooperation with Bid-project team

2. Advising internal stakeholders when sourcing NC services as well as active analysis of optimization levers in regards to demand and demand specifications for Network Capacity. => Stakeholder communication on strategy and stakeholder consulting on single demand requests.

3. Introduction of new supplier Network Capacity products into DTGBS’ service portfolio triggered by market analysis or as a consequence of a Product & Portfolio department initiative. => product and supplier on-boarded for the specific internal product.
3. Preparation and performing regional inventory tenders for network capacity and leading the negotiations in cooperation with stakeholders. => COP cost savings due to renewing contracts or migrating lines.
4. Manage Frame Contract, Master Service Agreements and Project Contract negotiations with Network Capacity key suppliers in all relevant dimensions. => Signed Master Service or Project Agreement

5. Coordinating integration of technical parameters and project time line parameters into such contractual agreements with NC suppliers in alignment with network production, project leads and legal department. => Technical Annexes to MSAs

7. Supplier performance assessment in cooperation with network production and other Procurement units. => Supplier Score Cards & Share of Wallet Reports + Review meetings

8. Documentation of regional NC strategy and respective changes, giving guidance to an operational procurement unit who has to execute the respective strategy. => Documentation & Training

9. Strong technology partnership management and engagement. = > Establishing regional delivery capability with carriers and systems integrator

• Developing a project plan and managing the schedule, budget, and team members’ time sheets to ensure completion of the project within the specified time frame
• Communicating with clients and stakeholders to ensure they are aware of project status and any potential problems or delays
• Ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, and best practices for safety and environmental concerns
• Managing procurement activities, including ordering raw materials and equipment, arranging for shipping and delivery schedules, and negotiating prices with vendors
• Conducting feasibility studies to assess business opportunities and make recommendations regarding strategy or implementation plans
• Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure that materials are available when needed and that tasks are completed on time and within budget
• Managing the day-to-day operations of a project including hiring personnel, purchasing materials and supplies, monitoring budgets, and ensuring compliance with governmental regulations
• Overseeing the project closeout process to ensure that all documentation is complete.

You will work primarily (but not exclusively) with the Airport Experience team who are part of the Customer Experience business unit. This team of product owners develop and apply digital and self-service technologies to offer customers efficient and seamless travel services. The team’s, focus is to improve the passengers’ experience at airport touchpoints, manages transfer baggage handling and provides connection services to customers transferring between different Star Alliance member airlines.

Your role will be to work closely with the Star Alliance product owner to develop and manage implementation of Star Alliance digital solutions across airline, airports and external ecosystems. You will also assume technical ownership of certain Star Alliance applications. This is a challenging role for the successful candidate who is motivated to drive Star Alliance’s business IT solutions.

Job Summary

• Develop and manage Star Alliance digital solutions across airlines, airports and external ecosystem, including solution architecture, coordinating development efforts between different development teams, user acceptance tests, and go-live
• Organise project meetings, monitor and manage project schedules
• Coordinate with all stakeholders for execution of projects, to include requirements gathering as well as translating business requirements to functional requirements and ensuring technical feasibility
• Review vendors’ solution proposal and SOWs to ensure business and functional requirements are met and addressed
• Define product strategies, recommend new product features and provide continuous improvements to existing products
• Refine the product backlog including new features, enablers and technical debt
• Oversee the resolution of tech-related issues and bugs with vendors to ensure compliance with standards and SLAs, to achieve optimal performance
• Coordinate and manage architectural decisions with all relevant stakeholders
• Lead the technical aspects in the solution design phase
• Ensure delivered products provide functionality as designed
• Stakeholder management includes ensuring timely and accurate communication to address all enquiries

Your Profile

• Completed studies in Computer Science or related field
• Experience managing or coordinating development teams e.g. Team Lead, Tech Lead or Scrum Master
• Experience/familiarity with face recognition technology or biometrics
• Experience with technical integrations e.g. API, MQ, ETL etc.
• Experience with Airline IT ecosystem is preferred, for example PSS, DCS, eCommerce, etc., understanding of new technology and standards such as NDC, Offer & Order, etc.
• Experienced presenter/trainer in larger workshop environments, ability to prepare effective PowerPoint presentations
• Experience in multicultural environments and multiple stakeholder management and being able to work with a geographically dispersed team of stakeholders
• Able to lead large workshops as well as facilitate technical discussions
• Takes initiative and self-motivated, works cohesively in a team
• Highly organised and possess the ability to manage multiple projects or tasks concurrently
• Willingness to travel
• High level of proficiency in English is essential, as it is the sole language used for communication with Star Alliance Member Airlines and other external stakeholders
