Purpose of the Role

The Solution Manager is responsible for the effectiveness of solution design in PSABDP contract logistics function globally. This role is focused on analysing complex information from various angles and creating cost-efficient, operationally viable, and innovative solutions to meet customer needs. Additionally provide support for the operational improvement and reengineering of existing processes and setups to maintain competitive cost levels.

Key Responsibilities

Customer (Internal & External)

§ Liaise with PSABDP customers and business development staff to understand customer supply chain requirements

§ Provide analysis and design support in the pursuit of new business, operational implementations and re-engineering initiatives

§ Collect and analyze data relating to logistics operations

§ Utilize PSABDP’s Standard tools for developing, modeling, evaluating and selecting appropriate solution options

§ Clearly outline solutions in appropriate formats for presentation to customers. Participate in customer presentations where required

§ Drive collaborative efforts between country and product leaders within PSABDP to meet the customer needs

§ Work with external consultants to deliver solution design projects namely customer RFQ responses, renewal

§ Provide guidance to subordinates in complex solutions design

Process

§ To gather data collection and verification of assigned project

§ To discuss and alignment on designed solutions with Contract Logistics Head, operation team, Business Development team and other key stakeholders before submission

§ To generate and update documents for knowledge management based on individual experience of Business Development and projects completed.

§ To innovate and improve in working practices facilitating to the development of the team methodology

§ To promote the best practice with peer manner and team attitude. For example, development of resource planning, development of Knowledge Management

§ To support a continuous improvement activity for current operations

§ To act as the internal focal point for access to Logistics Solutions expertise

§ To ensure that all recommended solutions, implementation plans, meet the requirements

§ To provide general local administrative support to divisionally based business development and solutions team members

§ To report on agreed format on monthly basis, information required for development team meetings

§ Develop effective customer presentation of the appropriate solutions as part of the pursuit teams

§ To develop a productivity data base of existing operations and cost database of vendors, assets/Capex, Labor, MHE, Costs, and all other information used in developing Solutions.

Required Skills, Experience and Educational Qualifications

Experience

· 5+years’ experience with a wide variety of solution design across different industries. Experience in Life Sciences, Chemical, Electronics & related verticals will be seen a positive

· Demonstrable understanding of logistics and supply chain management design principles, and demonstrates the ability to utilize this understanding in the sales process

Role Purpose:

To deliver year on year sales and revenue growth targets for the Lonza Cell & Gene Technologies (CGT) business unit. To proactively identify and build a pipeline of deals with new customers and to build relationships with assigned target accounts. To be able to effectively promote current technical capabilities and new technologies (as they become available) to facilitate generation and closing of new clinical and commercial business opportunities in the gene therapy / viral therapy and cell therapy space. To understand in detail a customer’s need and offer a matching clinical phase appropriate service solution while effectively delivering Lonza’s value proposition. This role will be focused on generating new business in the APAC territory across the entire CGT BU service offerings for viral and cell therapy related therapies. This position requires up to 50% travel time with the expectation to attend CGT relevant conferences & trade shows and customer visits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for generating new business and a strong pipeline of opportunities from new customers through a high level of customer contact including frequent direct customer visits and extensive networking activities. Responsible for owning the entire sales process from first contact to deal closure.

Requirement:

Education

Experience

• 5+ years of commercial experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech or CDMO space preferred
• Proven track record in delivering year on year business targets for complex service or high value deals
• Strong understanding of drug development and commercialization processes.
• Strong technical understanding of drug substance and drug product manufacturing processes within the Cell & Gene therapy sector.

• Act as the Leader on all SHE aspects in the terminal; provide SHE leadership and direction to the terminal
• Drive the implementation of the SHE plans and management systems within his department and the terminal
• Monitor the progress of the terminal’s SHE initiatives and Must-Win-Battles (MWBs) implementation
• Conduct periodic reviews to ensure that SHE plans remain relevant and on target
• Perform the role of validator for workplace inspection reports
• Monitor the terminal’s SHE performance and drive for improvements. Ensure timely consolidation and submission of SHE KPIs
• Manage the occupational health & industrial hygiene programs in the terminals
• Ensure a positive & proactive safety culture is maintained in the terminal through the organization of appropriate safety culture programs
• Maintain a high level of preparedness for SHE emergencies; ensures drills / exercises are conducted as planned and emergency equipment ready for deployment
• Manage and monitor the terminal SHE resources such as budget, personal protective equipment and permit-to-work stocks
• Ensure compliance to all statutory safety, health, environment and security requirements through updates, reviews and audits
• Take action to improve regulatory SHE performance and resolve non-compliances
• Oversee and manage the terminal’s risk management process through conducting risk assessments and reviews
• Ensure that the appropriate risk assessment procedures are followed
• Ensure that all actions identified through these assessments and reviews are duly closed
• Support the planned SHE audits and reviews
• Ensure that all improvements identified from incidents, workplace inspections, near-misses and audits are duly completed
• Drive other SHE Improvement initiatives for continual improvements in safety and operational performance
• Support the sustainability initiatives in the terminal, including monitoring energy efficiency and encouraging initiatives to improve improvements in energy efficiency
• Act as the sole point of contact with SHE-related government agencies and mutual aid companies
• Drive internal stakeholders’ alignment before engaging external parties on strategic matters
• Build stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
• Manage, motivate and develop terminal staff and contractors in all SHE aspects
• Lead the terminal SHE department to ensure a high level of performance through mentoring and coaching

Requirements:

• At least 8 to 10 years of safety, health and environmental management experience with at least 3 years in a management position
• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Safety, Health and Environment management
• Preferably with WSH Level C or above certification
• Have thorough understanding of Singapore safety regulations including WSH Acts, Regulations and Standards and regulatory process; the ability to research, analyze, interpret and implement HSE regulations, standards, and best practices
