The CRISPR and Genome Editing Lab led by Assistant Professor HU Chunyi, is a dynamic addition to the Department of Biological Sciences at the National University of Singapore. Currently, we are in search of a dedicated Research Associate to contribute to a research project focused on the study of CRISPR-Cas immunity systems and the development of genome editing tools.

Exceptional laboratory skills are a prerequisite and demonstrated experience in molecular/microbiology would be highly advantageous. Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Fellow (Postdoc) for “Machine learning for Cognitive AI for biomedical sciences” in the Department of Ophthalmology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The department’s current data science efforts focus on building consciousness inspired machine learning to improve generalization and robustness of AI in medicine. Purpose of the post

The research fellow will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the successful completion of the machine learning projects on time. Main Duties and Responsibilities

The research fellow will liaise with the relevant personnel in department to smooth the process of research and will be accountable to the Principle Investigator (PI). The RA will be able to:

Who are we looking for?

The Chief of Staff works as part of the CARES leadership team (with the CARES Director) to ensure the smooth running of the University of Cambridge's research centre in Singapore. The post holder has operational responsibility for all day-to- day non-academic activities of the centre, including research grant pre- and post award activities, people management, financial management, and establishing and maintaining partnerships with funders and collaborating institutions. The role holder is expected to fulfil decisions made by the CARES Governing Board, working with the CARES Director, CARES Governing Board and staff members to ensure that the organisational mission is fulfilled operationally and strategically.

The post-holder leads the multi-functional CARES Support Team (currently 12 based in Singapore and UK) supporting the research operations at the centre.

This position could be well suited to University of Cambridge administrators seeking a new challenge with the rare opportunity to work in an international environment abroad to further the University's international research ambitions; in such cases the position is offered as an internal secondment.

Please note that this position is based 100% in Singapore. The CARES Chief of Staff will be seconded full-time to Singapore and will be paid by CARES Ltd in Singapore Dollars. The Singapore salary will be competitive, taking into account local salary benchmarks.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and directing all administrative and operational activities on behalf of the CARES Director and CARES Governing Board, including line management of CARES Support Team in Singapore and Cambridge.

The Department of Diagnostic Imaging (DDI) is the clinical service department in the National University Hospital (NUH). With the formation of the National University Health System (NUHS), both clinical and academic departments come under a common governing structure. NUHS was incorporated on 23 January 2008 to integrate education, research and clinical care.

Purpose of the post

The PI lab aims to develop in vitro diagnostics, in vivo imaging and nanobiotechnology with emphasis on molecular imaging tools and drug and gene delivery techniques. The Visiting Fellows will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and the team members to undertake independent and/or collaborative research and to lead on aspects of research strategy within the lab.
