The Software Engineer Program is a global two-year career development program designed to provide Early Career talent with the foundational technical and professional skills enabling them to build robust networks and establish successful careers in technology at JPMorgan. The Program Manager role is critical to the success of the Program. The Program Manager holds three key responsibilities - developing and coaching engineer, managing relationships with senior leaders and manager, and partnering with firm wide stakeholders to ensure the Program’s success across the region.
As an Early Career Talent Development Program Manager in New Joiner Experience team, you will have end-to-end ownership by creating and driving strategy for the Software Engineer Program. You will deliver a globally consistent and robust engineer experience, secure challenging roles providing growth opportunities, align with engaged managers, support the firm’s Early Career talent and location strategy and actively listen to our stakeholders to continuously improve and transform the Program.
Job responsibilities:
• Provide coaching to engineers on career planning and development, increasing performance/contribution, issue resolution, mobility searches and retention through regular one-on-one
• Managing budgets and all logistics for program events, including engineer/manager roundtables, engineer one-on-one, Software Engineer Program graduation, 30-60-90day integration plan for the new joiners, surveys and any new initiatives rolled out during the year
• Plan, execute and support engineer development activities including engineer committees, networking events, communications and alumni program
• Participate in and lead program-wide initiatives including across region through transformative or process improvement projects to drive global synergies & consistency in the program
• Manage all core Program processes from end to end including placement, demand planning, LOB engagement, Software Engineer Program education, compensation and engineer development
• Work with Software Engineer Program Early Career Talent Council and Tech Center leadership to drive key initiatives and decision making in the region. Present Software Engineer Program Metrics at regular intervals and drive the desired results
• Provide guidance to managers/HR Business Partners on performance management issues
• Keep the managers updated on all the program initiative through a robust communication, manager education calls & manager engagement plan to drive the program agenda
• Partner with Campus Recruiting to deliver top quality talent for the company, diversity initiatives and participation in candidate assessment activities
• Partner with the Software Engineer Program Training team to ensure all aspects of engineer training are successfully planned and implemented
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Minimum 6 years of work experience in talent development, campus programs or Human resources, with at least 2 years in a Banking environment
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, strategic client relationships at the executive and manager level
• Excellent verbal and written communications, presentation and facilitation skills
• Strong attention to detail, follow-through and results orientation
• Strong consultative and influencing skills
• High degree of initiative and autonomy
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize and escalate appropriately
