This role is designed to deliver Commerce strategic support to our clients and omni-commerce agency team. The role is responsible for operationalizing best practices, developing commerce solutions, and delivering client business objectives.

The Commerce Strategy Lead brings thought leadership and retail media expertise to the GroupM Commerce team, delivering best-in-class solutions across our client teams. They are responsible for continuing to drive the unwavering client-centricity of our ecommerce practice. As the key leader in new business as well as ecommerce strategy lead for our top clients, they will help craft innovative and sustainable growth strategies for our clients that marry the best of Commerce operations, media, and creativity while unifying our community across markets and agencies.
The candidate should have omnichannel and O2O experience, with a proven record of running omnichannel direct to consumer business. With this, the expectation is to guide country teams in setting up omnichannel practices and establish the strategy and action plans for success.
The role will identify product, process, or solution opportunities based on client needs and unlocking new growth opportunities across channels for our top clients. Lead Social Commerce strategy development along with Influencer and Affiliate Teams.
This role will have the opportunity to work across multiple client accounts, work with retail partners, and support highly dynamic cross-functional project teams. This role will have the ability to infuse the best of our network capabilities into our client’s deliverables. An entrepreneurial spirit with a bias for action and problem-solving is necessary to be successful in this role.
Job Responsibilities:
· Lead a high growth area through a transformable change with our Agencies and their Brands and build a scalable, operationally excellent technology/service delivery organization.
· Manage a team of direct reports and their career development.
· Identify, develop, and implement long and short-term strategic direction and growth plans for the clients business with clear measurable commerce performance and growth objectives on embedded client accounts
· Contribute to upleveling ecommerce management and improve how we serve GroupM Commerce clients across agencies.
· Provide a competitive edge for the business by driving and implementing a culture of high performance and innovation in designing product offerings, positioning and operating models
· Oversee change initiatives by continuously demonstrating a deep understanding of the technology transformation occurring in the eCommerce space
· Guide top management with reporting and dashboards for KPIs, traffic sources, device usage, merchandising, and funnel behaviors across all markets.
· Implement analytics and reporting systems to measure the effectiveness of ecommerce campaigns and offline sales efforts
· Stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices in retail media. Develop and cascade POVs on changing industry dynamics.
· Engage with internal and external leaders across WPP agencies, technology providers, and retailers to develop go-to-market solutions.
· Assist in developing commerce and retail media content for the organization, including educational trainings, POVs, and frameworks.
· Lead the adoption of GroupM Commerce for new business and existing accounts.
Minimum Requirements:
· Require omnichannel and O2O experience, establish strategy and action plans.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions. Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
· A broad-based background with proven critical technical knowledge and skills.
· Strong commercial, financial and operational background, with an ability to apply appropriate principles.
· Strong leadership, drive and ability to inspire and develop teams
· Deep understanding of retail commercial elements such as profit margin, inventory levels, forecasting, and demand planning to inform media decisions.
· Experience in campaign management and optimization across multiple retail platforms (Amazon, Instacart, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Criteo, Google, Meta, etc.).
· A self-starter attitude that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to clients and internal stakeholders.
· Excellent project-management skills; able to coordinate projects across multiple teams and functions.
