The Singapore Population Health Studies (SPHS) is a population-based health research initiative at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. SPHS aims to investigate the interactions between lifestyle, physiological, genetic and other omics biomarkers and their impact on health and longevity. In addition, SPHS will serve as a platform to monitor risk factors in the population and gain insight into determinants of health-related behaviours. JOB PURPOSE
This role primarily involves the recruitment and data collection activities of the public health research projects under the SPHS unit that will contribute towards the building of a population health biobank for Singapore.

The Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIE) at Duke-NUS Medical School (Duke-NUS) is responsible for protecting and commercialising inventions made by Duke-NUS researchers, managing collaborations and relationships with other organisations that may result in new products or services that impact patients and communities, and building an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre (AMC).

Description

As the Assistant or Lead, App Development, you will have responsibility to provide leadership in the development and management of all the front-end app and web development activities for the company’s digital products, including video, audio and news & entertainment products.

Responsibilities

• Lead a group of web, mobile and TV app developers to develop and maintain several video, audio, news and entertainment apps for online, mobile, Smart TV and media player environments
• Collaborate with product managers, UX managers and designers to specify, compile product requirements and build best in class products
• Where development is outsourced, you will manage and work with vendors to define development specifications, manage the development timelines and project plans, and ensure the apps are designed for quality, best performance and user experience
• Develop performance specifications for the front end apps and web environments that are best in class, market competitive and ensure that the development of the apps deliver on these performance specifications
• Employ agile development methodology in product and app development
• Define and enforce processes for software review, unit testing, QA and documentation
• Conduct regular performance benchmarking with competing products and develop enhancement plans to ensure that the company’s digital products are performing competitively with market benchmarks in their respective categories
• Provide leadership in managing product stakeholders, interdepartmental technology collaborations, providing regular feedback, recommendations and managing expectations to deliver positive outcomes, technology innovation and best practices
• Manage the drafting, issuing and running of tenders to select vendors for the above development activities
• Work closely with vendors in the implementation of the above workstreams to ensure timely delivery of these projects

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Software Engineering
• Certified Scrum Master would be an added advantage
• At least 15 years of working experience in software and systems development
• Proven track record in building iOS/Android/Web/Smart TV applications for media or related products, with at least 5 years of hands-on development

Job position summary

Reporting to the Group Manager, the main responsibility of the admin assistant is to provide daily administrative support to the team.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Liaise with Manager/ Superintendents for prompt supply of technical spare parts or vsl repair jobs.
• Handle purchasing activities as well as arranging logistic to connect the spares to the vessels.
• Create job sheet in Tally Accounting system and Issue PO to vendor.
• Provide delivery note/ proforma invoice/ packing list to the vendor for delivery.
• Send enquiry/ requisitions to suppliers worldwide for quotations of supply of technical spare parts.
• Liaise with vessels on any information required pertaining to requisitions.
• Follow up with quotation from suppliers.
• Assist in logistics arrangement (air freight/ sea freight/ land transport/ sea transport)
• Liaise with agents and ships for supply of spare parts and sometimes repairs to vessels worldwide.
• Document filing / sending final costing to accounts for billing/ Invoicing.
