The Senior Executive, Governance and Quality Assurance, supports educational quality assurance processes and practices for the NTU Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery undergraduate programme at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. This position reports to Director, Education Management.

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Reform

• Participate as Secretariat team member of the Curriculum Reform Committee (CRC) and its sub-groups and ensuring effective collaboration and implementation of curriculum reforms.

• Organise CRC and its sub-groups meetings and providing administrative and logistical support

• Assist in the preparation, compilation and dissemination of CRC and its sub-groups meeting package including meeting papers and slide deck

Curriculum Documentation

• Administer electronic filing infrastructure for NTU MBBS degree documentation

• Assist faculty and educators in compiling and documenting learning outcomes

• Collaborate with sub-groups, faculty and educators to collect, organise, and update course outlines, learning outcomes, and assessment strategies.

Programme Policies and Processes

• Collaborate with team leads in developing and reviewing MBBS degree programme policies and processes

• Monitor timeline for submission of revised policies and processes for approval at School and University-level committees

• Prepare student-facing versions of policies and processes for publication on student intranet

Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement

• Provide administrative support for national-level medical education quality assurance and quality improvement efforts

• Assist in preparation of quality assurance documentation for submission to Ministry of Health and Singapore Medical Council

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in education quality management

Strategic Initiatives and school projects support

• Collate data on strategic risks, opportunities, problems, industry and research trends, findings as well as research outcomes, to support analysis

The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) seeks a Research Assistant in the areas of natural hazard impacts.

The candidate will work under the supervision of David Lallemant and Susanna Jenkins and will collaborate with the researchers from the ‘Integrating Volcano and Earthquake Science and Technology (InVEST) in Southeast Asia’ project, a 5-year project that aims to provide a holistic understanding of regional tectonics, volcanoes, the linkages between the two, and their cascading hazards and impacts in Singapore and Southeast Asia. 

Specific research/duties will include identifying potentially impactful hazard scenarios in the Southeast Asian Ring of Fire, contributing to numerical modelling of the hazard and its consequences, developing key case studies that can inform and support policy decisions, and preparing information and outputs in ways that can be used to communicate with policy makers and other risk stakeholders.

The selection of the NAP awards follows a rigorous academic peer-review process led by the NTU Research Council (NTURC). The Nanyang Assistant Professors play an important role in lifting NTU’s research to higher levels.

Successful candidates will:

• Clinician-Scientists interested in ​translational and/or clinical science ​bridging bench and bedside, ​clinical trials, epidemiology, ​digital health, health services ​research and/or interventional studies in any medical discipline are welcome.

School of Biological Sciences

Visiting Professor

The School of Biological Sciences offers a Double Degree Programme in Biomedical Sciences and Chinese Medicine which is a bilingual programme and a collaboration between NTU and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM). This innovative “East Meets West” programme aims to train students in 21st century Biomedical Sciences and the principles and practice of Chinese Medicine (CM).

Responsibilities:

• To conduct a full course on the subject matter based on syllabus and learning materials determined by BUCM.

• To administer, mark and grade the examination for the courses.

• To teach a course on
   - “Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine”
   - Seasonal Febrile Diseases”

Qualifications and requirements:

• Possess relevant PhD degree in Chinese Medicine from a recognised university.

• Possess many years of teaching and/or clinical experiences in Chinese Medicine at recognised university in China.

• At least an Professor from recognised university.
