The charterer will support the physical CPP/Chem traders on commercial vessel operations across CPP and chem products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Fixing CPP (LRs and MRs) and Chemical vessels for physical trade deals done by the traders.
· Manage shipping-related matters such as vessel nominations, vessel fixtures, voyage orders, pre-fixing and post-fixing vessel operations, freight optimization etc.
· Carry out pre-fixing main terms and charter party terms negotiation with the vessel owner/broker.
· Communication with respective internal departments to provide assurance and control on trade processes and procedures.
· Liaise with external parties such as trade counterparts, inspectors, agents, STS providers, ship brokers/owners, terminals, and internal departments to ensure smooth vessel chartering procedure.
· Establish good working relationships with counterparties, alongside internal and external stakeholders.
· Coordinate and communicate with various news agencies/brokerage houses for freight market updates and freight forecasts.
· Demurrage claim management and claim negotiation with all related parties.
· Ensure in-house systems and databases are updated in a timely manner.
Skills & Competencies:
· Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in a trading/owner/broker house.
· Good knowledge of the vessel market, especially the CPP market, in terms of world scales, TC routes, LRs, MRs, and product/chemical tankers.
· Proactive and good problem-solving skills. Ability to identify potential supply chain issues and propose relevant solutions.
· Must possess and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment on a local and global level.
· Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written.
· High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
· An educational background in the maritime industry will be an added advantage.
· Speaking knowledge of the Indian language and Indian Maritime regulations will be an added advantage.
