Overview of the Role

• The Project Manager/ Implementation Manager is expected to manage highly complex and time-sensitive client projects.
• The Project Manager will manage a portfolio of cluster and/or global client projects numbering from approximately 10-20 depending on scope and complexity, with highest level of quality and professionalism.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects and total client satisfaction: Implement client objectives within standard guidelines and timeframes
• Act as an advisor to the client in building the overall structure of the project and fine tune the solution to fit the client's requirements.
• Act as the primary interface to client, while coordinating all internal and external project related activities.
• Support Sales effort by participating as a part of the deal team to prepare client pitches.
• Comply with all audit, regulatory and compliance directives.
• Appropriately manage and resolve issues and escalations raised throughout the project through proper issue tracking and escalation channels.
• Continuously seek to identify opportunities for efficiency and control improvements in the process and Implement such improvements whenever possible.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of client management and/or project management experience is good to have.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with cash/trade products and business processes.
• Strong influencing skills to manage virtual teams.
• Expert knowledge of MS Office products, including MS Project.
• Certified Project Management training / certification (i.e. Project Management Professional - PMP, Prince 2 Practitioner, or equivalent) preferred.
• A technical background and a strong understanding of human and system interfacing, interaction and design are also highly desirable.
• Since the clientele will involve handling Mandarin speaking clients, business-level proficiency in Mandarin is good to have.

About the role:

1.  Liaise with client's representatives on all site matters with proper documentation.

4.  Manage and ensure completion of assigned upgrading / Additional & Alteration (A&A) works in accordance to the client’s expectation within the timeline and budget

5.  Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.

6.  Liaise closely with sub-contractors, architects, consultants, and relevant authorities to ensure the smooth execution of project.

7.  Ensure that works are executed in accordance with approved plans/drawings and in accordance with contract specification.

8.  Able to chair project kick-off meetings, progress meeting and all other project related meetings with clients, consultants, and other parties.

9.  Able to prepare tender document including the estimated price value and specification write up.

10.  Preparation & Monitoring of project progress claim, variation, and final accounts daily/weekly for all parties.

11.  Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure that required work is satisfactorily performed and completed by certified consultants.

12.  Any other related duties that may be assigned.

Job Purpose

Ensure that the handling of hazardous cargo in DHL Global Forwarding is consistently compliant to all legal guidelines and requirements. The Dangerous Goods Manager is responsible for making sure safe and compliant handling of Dangerous Goods according to global protocols in coordination with relevant stakeholders within a specific region.

This also entails functioning as an intermediary between the global DG team and the country organisations as well as monitoring consistent training.

The role is responsible for both Air Freight and Ocean Freight and requires active collaboration and alignment with the operations functions in both products.

Key Tasks

- Collaborate with global Dangerous Goods manager to facilitate needs and requirements from countries within specific region

- Support countries with implementation of global Dangerous Goods standards and their individual training needs

- Monitor application of global Dangerour Goods standards, identify gaps or non-compliance issues and work with relevant stakeholders to address them

- Provide support on issues and problems for less established country organisations

- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards associated with the handling and transportation of dangerous goods within the region. Alert risks to global team and implement strategies to mitigate risks.

- DG user management and coordination on regional level
