Job Description
The incumbent will provide administrative and logistical support to the Bachelor of Environmental Studies (BES) programme, in the Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following -
• Assist the BES programme committee to draft curriculum papers and submit new course proposals to effect changes to the curriculum.
• Provide administrative and logistical support to course coordinators for ENV-coded modules
• Manage timetabling, course registration and examination matters
• Manage financial aspects of the BES programme, including the processing of invoices and request for payment forms.
• Facilitate admission processes for freshmen, including the polytechnic accreditation exercise, scheduling of aptitude-based admission and scholarship interviews, declaration of specialization for freshmen and facilitating the BES curriculum briefing at the beginning of every academic year.
• Plan and facilitate outreach events for prospective and current students, including NUS Open Day, Open House, Engagement Day and BES tea session.
• Provide support to BES student groups, including the BES student committee and BES Drongos.
• Provide support for BES student queries regarding enrolment and graduation requirements.
• Address any enquiries through the envhelp mailbox.
• Oversee updates to the BES website when required.
• Help organise any BES programme-related conferences or meetings.
• Ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Programme Committee.
Qualifications/Requirements/Other Info
• A recognised Bachelor’s degree in any field
• Experience in administration of academic programmes will be an advantage
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Positive work attitude with service orientation, pro-active and team player
• Creative, meticulous, resourceful and self-motivated
• Proficient in Microsoft Office/IT applications
- Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with annual variable bonus which is subject to incumbent’s performance and the University/School’s prevailing remuneration policies.
- The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade based on his/her individual merits.
