This position is a dedicated SME to support the Director of Investment Governance in Singapore to

(1) drive the governance efforts for AIA Investment Management Private Limited (“Group AMC”), collective investment schemes by Group AMC (“CISs”) and oversight of the other AIA AMCs located in Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines (collectively, the “In-scope Entities”)

It is important for this position to provide recommendations to comprehensive solutions, showing sound professional judgement balancing considerations from an AIA-wide perspective, Hong Kong Insurance Authority group-wide supervision perspective as well as, critically, specific local regulatory requirements, including those of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

This position will also support Group AMC and CIS to embed the IGF standards within these entities, and translate them into local policies and procedures.

This role requires solid understanding of asset ownership and asset management, the legal construct and structure of AIA, AMCs, CISs, SPVs and insurance companies working in multiple jurisdictions and proficiency in related regulatory and compliance requirements.

This position is responsible for:

• Building trust and relationships to ensure a strong governance culture and demonstrably accountability within the In-Scope Entities. With the growing complexity of scope and activities within AIA, this is a role for a dedicated SME with the ability to provide guidance and influence others.
• Manage the IGF implementation for the Group AMC and CISs and provide assistance to other AMCs and CISs in their respective implementation of the same;
• Facilitating individual accountability of Investment Policy Functional Owners and Referees in case of queries and disputes;

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years in risk, investment governance or investment compliance and/or related legal functions as applied to asset management and asset ownership.
