The Job
- Engage internal / external stakeholders and utilize user research techniques such as Gemba walks, hands on testing, interviews, meetings, and user feedback to identify pain points on their existing manual operation work processes and conduct analysis for system implementation.
- Product/Solution assessment (including proposal of suitable product solutions) of existing implementations to evaluate fit for purpose and gather sufficient technical and process inputs for further technical and business evaluation, bridging gap between IT and business. Coordinate with Project Manager, Technical Leads, Solution Architects, Subject Matter Experts (SME) Leads and Vendors.
- Activities as the overall owner of the product backlog include:Conducting feasibility assessment studies.
Lead and run Design sessions i.e., Document user journeys with SME leads and end users, Prototype reviews, UI/UX review, effectively design user requirements into functional design documents.
Initiate sign offs of Design Reviews and product backlog prioritisation.
Coordinate with Technical Leads, effectively linking and translate technical requirements into business requirements.
Make product recommendations.
- Lead and expedite user and management sign offs on requirements, proposed improvements, UATs with SME leads, management, and vendor.
- Lead UAT and Training Execution – Plan, coordinate and execute with SME Leads. Ensure that coordination is done with Project Manager on overall UAT, Go Live schedules. Ensure that UAT test scenarios and user guides are detailed and well developed. Conduct on the ground training is to end users as required.
- Devise and Execute Roll-out plan with end users with proposed KPIs for adoption and business value. (Set up and lead pilot reviews, adoption reviews – on a weekly/monthly as agreed with management).
- Create and track statistics and data analysis on agreed metrics.
- Lead change management approach – Devising the strategy and target for adoption and implementing the change management post Go Live
- Lead Design Reviews before PIRR to understand improvements to be evaluated as part of the Program Increment cycle.
- Plan and lead subsequent program increment for the base product.
Job Requirement
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems, Industrial Design, Maritime Studies or other relevant areas.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of business analyst and/or project management and/or product management experience (at least small to medium sized projects) in the implementation of software applications projects.
- Experienced in stakeholder engagement and process and solution design with relevant experience in Business and/or digital solutions analyst background.
- Knowledge of agile project management and/or PMP or PRINCE-2 or LEAN Six Sigma or CBAP or Scrum will be an advantage.
- Good technical understanding of digital solutions in the market will be an added advantage.
- Basic software development and database knowledge.
- Strong in Microsoft Office suite of products (added advantage if can code in Python/Java/other object-oriented programming language).
- Pro-active ground engagement and need to think on your feet and propose ideas for improvements.
- A good communicator, outgoing, and able to engage others across diverse cultures.
- Highly numerate, meticulous and process driven, ability to deliver results under stressful and challenging conditions.
- Lead and seek stakeholder buy-in on why proposed solution and process works best. Always have a continuous improvement approach.
- Challenge the thinking in a constructive manner and propose solutions which are in line with JP’s overall business objectives.
