The Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE) is a unique interdisciplinary Research Centre of Excellence (RCE), funded by National Research Foundation, Ministry of Education, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and National University of Singapore (NUS). Hosted by NTU in partnership with NUS, SCELSE is linking new insights from the life sciences with expertise from emerging technologies in engineering and natural sciences to understand, harness and control microbial biofilm communities and microbiomes. This is enabled through its strengths in analysis of complex microbiomes, using advanced computational biology and cutting-edge facilities in genome sequencing, bio-imaging and bioreactor processes.

SCELSE is seeking to hire a Manager, Business Data Operations Management provide day-to-day facilities management and the data centre in SCELSE through ongoing end-user support as well as monitoring of HPC resources, including its 13,000 plus core compute servers and over 4 PB of high-capacity storage. The Business Data Operations manager is also responsible for the yearly performed external audit, as well as the key contact person for the SCELSE NSCC (National Super Computing Center) partnership.

In addition, the role will additionally ensure smooth operation of the SCELSE HPC through infrastructure planning, facilities budgeting, and regular review of physical and logical security of the SCELSE HPC with continued partnership with NTU-HPCC and NTU-CITS.

The role will provide direct support for the SCELSE-Sequencing Facility to meet the needs of their high-throughput sequencing machines, including integration of new lab machines, set-up and troubleshooting of network communications and maintenance and implementation of data processing workflows as necessary.

• Manage the data centre and facility that encompass SCELSE-HPC compute hardware, ultra-low latency network, job scheduler, and high-performance storage
• Ensure smooth operations of SCELSE’s High Performance Computing between dual data centers (on-premises and hosted NTU site) including regular checks of environmental controls in line with ODFM and CITS safety and security measures; serve as primary contact point for all HPC facilities-related issues

Programme and Facilitation Management (OJT)

• At least 4 to 6 years working experiences with exposure in team management role, internship/training management and service delivery experience preferably in tertiary education, adult education sectors and/or government agencies environment.
• Successful track record in the management of internships/ cooperative education/ work-study degree programme/ workplace learning/ performance enhancement or adult education.
• Familiar with adult learning pedagogy and practices of OJT.
• Able to provide career coaching support and consultation to students on their career goals, career aspiration, career development, career preparation and job search etc.
• Have some knowledge of industrial sectoral employment landscape and SkillsFuture Skills Framework.
• Candidate with qualifications in Career Facilitation Programme (CFP) and/or WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning & Facilitation (ACLP) will have added advantages.
• A proficient written and oral communicator.

The Office of Information, Knowledge and Library Services (OIKLS) provides seamless access to information and services to support the learning, teaching and research needs of the NTU community.

OIKLS seeks a service-oriented, innovative and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to support the team in conceptualizing and executing process improvements projects, manage change communication, and develop and uphold and service excellence standards. The successful applicant will work with different stakeholders across the University in innovation-driven projects with a focus on service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee service quality standard at Service Desks, main phone line and online Central Enquiry Management system.
• Manage the implementation of newly introduced library operations improvement initiatives at the seven libraries.
• Develop and execute change communication plans for new services.
• Manage the development of publicity materials and events to implement service excellence initiatives to stakeholders.
• Perform data analytics and provide reports on user feedback on the impact of services at the libraries and recommendations on enhancements for an improved user experience.
• Review and assess user feedback, identify areas of concern and track impact of service improvement initiatives.
• Manage and train a team of executive staff and student assistants on new processes for service excellence initiatives.

Requirements

• A recognized degree in any discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in library related work.
• Experience in operations, customer service or communications role in academic libraries or large libraries.
• Experience in executing innovation-driven or process improvements projects.
• Experience in developing communication plans or stakeholder management in education industry.
• Service-oriented mindset with focus on customer service.
• Strong communication skills in customer interactions, presentation to stakeholders and training delivery.
• Organized and detail-oriented with ability to analyze processes and identify areas for improvements.
• Experience in Project Management experience will be an advantage.
